Arab-American comedian Dean Obeidallah presents his New One Man Show which Addresses Issues Faced by Many Arab-Americans Caused by 9/11 and the Increased Violence in the Middle East. This show gives a rare glimpse into the struggles of being Middle Eastern-American in the five years after 9/11.

New York, NY (PRWEB) July 19, 2006 -- On September 10, 2001, Dean Obeidallah went to sleep an American. On September 11, he woke up an Arab. So begins the introduction to his poignant and funny one-man show I Come in Peace that will be staged for the first time at the New York International Fringe Festival. Written by comedian Obeidallah and produced by the critically acclaimed New York Arab-American Comedy Festival (www.arabcomedy.org) I Come in Peace takes a truthful look at how Obeidallah’s life has changed since 9/11. Before 9/11, he was just a typical white guy. In the wake of 9/11, Obeidallah finds himself asking what it means to be an Arab-American with a Muslim last name? His funny, painful, and truly surprising journey after 9/11 details his evolution from a typical white guy to "Super Arab."

“With the 5th anniversary of 9/11 approaching this September, I wanted to share with my fellow Americans the struggles that I, and millions of other Middle Eastern-Americans, have faced as we have tried to find our way in the post 9/11 world. This is not a show just for Arab-Americans. It is truly an American story. All of our lives have been impacted by 9/11. Plus the show is really funny!” said Obeidallah.
