Candace Renwall Selected For EAA AirVenture 2006 Women Soar

Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) AirVenture Show 2006 features Women Science and Technology Leaders in a two-day session July 23 and 24, 2006. The women will work with over 100 young girls in the 13-18 age group attending the sessions, outlining the opportunities for pursuing science and technology careers.

Oshkosh, WI (PRWEB) July 20, 2006 -- Candace M. Renwall, CEO of Technology Business Partners Inc., was selected to participate among an elite group of women science and technology leaders at EAA’s AirVenture Oshkosh 2006 Women Soar event on July 23 and 24, 2006.

Recognized as the world’s greatest aviation celebration, the EAA convention (Experimental Aircraft Association) welcomes more than 10,000 aircraft and approximately 700,000 visitors from more than 60 nations. The weeklong event showcases the best of aviation’s innovations and heritage. . “Simply put, Oshkosh is the place to be for anyone who enjoys flight,” said Tom Poberezny, EAA president and AirVenture chairman. “EAA AirVenture is not only aviation’s family reunion, but also the place where nearly every facet of flight is on display, as Oshkosh is the international crossroads where people enjoy and celebrate the freedom of flight.”

As part of EAA AirVenture 2006 many event offerings, one of the newer and most exciting sessions is the two-day Women Soar Program. The purpose of the program is to engage girls in EAA education programs, introduce them to exciting career opportunities, highlight educational resources available and promote the belief that the sky is not the limit -- it is possible to achieve success in aviation, science, engineering, technology and more. “It is exciting to engage so many women who have achieved success and recognition in what are still considered non-traditional roles to serve as role models for teen girls who are just beginning their journey, “ said Elissa Lines, Vice President-Development for EAA. “For many girls, Women Soar represents their first opportunity to talk face to face with an engineer, a scientist, commercial, test or combat pilot etc. These conversations plant the seeds that will inspire their decisions in the future.”

This year’s participants include nationally and internationally renowned leaders in their respective fields, such as Major Jill Long, USAF Combat Pilot; Captain Suzanna Darcy-Hennemann, 777 Senior Test Pilot for Boeing Commercial Group; and Judith Rice, Deputy Director of Aerospace Education for the Civil Air Patrol.

Renwall, a leading Midwest technology executive for over 35+ years, will be representing the business/technology sector. “To have the opportunity to inspire, educate and enlighten young girls in the area of science and technology is an honor and a privilege”, said Ms. Renwall. “We continue to face a significant shortfall in a variety of key U.S. technology and science positions now and well into the future, so this is the critical time to capture 13-18 year old young girls before they make career and life decisions -- if I can make a difference by guiding and influencing these young girls, there is no greater satisfaction for me.”
