Human Capital Institute Announces Launch in Russia

The Human Capital Institute (HCI), a global professional association and educator in talent management strategies announced today that it has successfully initiated operations in Russia, with a series of educational presentations and new networking opportunities for Russian executives seeking to better leverage human capital.

The initiative is important to HCI’s efforts in establishing a larger global presence. Human capital is also crucial to Russia’s position as leader in the world economy. Speaking in an interview for the G8 summit, Russian President Vladimir Putin cited three primary advantages Russia has as a
global leader: its huge wealth of natural resources, its unique geo-political position bridging East and West, and the creativity of its people.

On June 12, David Forman, HCI’s Chief Learning Officer, conducted an executive seminar on Integrated Talent Management at the Moscow offices of global consultancy Deloitte & Touché. Then, on June 13 and 14, at a hotel in downtown Moscow, Forman taught HCI’s signature course, The Principles of Human Capital Management, to participants from a variety of Russian companies and organizations.

On June 16, Forman presented two additional courses, Driving a Talent Mindset Throughout the Enterprise and Talent Metrics, to employees from various divisions of Basic Element, a multibillion-dollar Russian company concentrated in a variety of industries. The June 16 sessions were simultaneously translated events; Forman’s presentation was translated into Russian and participants’ questions and comments were translated into English.

Forman found the entire experience insightful and indicative of ongoing opportunities. “Russia’s reemergence on the global scene is remarkable, and its people are playing the critical role,” he said.

In addition to education sessions, a board meeting was held in Moscow to help Terry Stockham launch HCI in Russia. Stockham, an international consultant at Runzheimer International, is partnering with HCI and will oversee future programs and initiatives in Russia.

Forman is enthusiastic about the impact HCI can make. “Russia is a significant global player in the new talent economy, and there’s a lot of demand for innovation and best practices around human capital management,” he said.
