Independent country star Eileen Carey successfully uses the Internet to market her music and win the hearts of fans around the world.

Nashville, TN (PRWEB) July 26, 2006 -- Indie country star Eileen Carey is working the Internet to market her music and win the hearts of fans from around the world. Her strategy is working better than anyone in the business predicted, with Canadian sales alone increasing 25% during the past year.

Traditionally, successful country musicians are supported by a major label, which handles marketing and controls their musical direction. By staying independent, Carey has been able to maintain full control over her music, as well as her sales and publicity.

“Country music lovers all around the world are coming together over the internet. You can’t get a bigger or better audience for your music. Some of my greatest fans are in Japan, England and Spain,” said Carey. “This kind of audience is giving me the freedom I need to keep working on my music. It’s the perfect place for me at this time in my career.”

Eileen’s strategy to market her music almost exclusively via a strong web presence is working very well. Her music can be downloaded off the web through The Orchard, Apple’s iTunes, CD Baby, Music Forte, Wal-Mart On-line, Best Buy On-line, EPK On-Line, Tower Records On-Line, Amazon.com, www.Myspace.com/EileenCarey and RadioPRWEBPodcast.com.

Sales from each site may seem relatively small, but for an independent artist selling 25 CDs and singles from The Orchard in 5 weeks is very impressive. Add that total to the other sites’ sales and her numbers are outstanding. While her marketing costs are minimal with no major magazine ads or traditional promotions, her profits per unit are higher than artists supporting a major label.

Carey’s favorite “secret weapons” are her press releases. Each release she sends out brings a minimum of 75 hits on her website. Each hit means a better chance that people will get to know her, become fans and buy her music.

Eager fans also learn about the woman behind the music by connecting to one of Carey’s many interviews on Internet news services. She has chatted with hosts and fans from general news services, such as Google, Yahoo, AOL and AltaVista, as well as country music news sites.

Her most recent web radio success was on the 15 Seconds of Fame program featured at www.radiolia.com. During this call-in show, 68% of Lia’s loyal listeners cast their votes for Carey’s “Good Time Charlie” single.

Carey is also making waves and gaining votes on the New Country Star website www.newcountrystar.com which is dedicated to introducing the best new artists in the industry. Fans can visit this site to listen to one of Eileen’s latest releases and vote for her chance to become one of their showcased New Country Stars.

All the internet buzz increases Carey’s more traditional radio playtime and club bookings, which keeps current fans happy while winning the hearts of new fans.

“It’s exciting to know my music touches peoples lives,” says Carey. “But the requests and feedback keep me going. I’m definitely doing something they like.”

Carey was first recognized when her energetic cover of Patsy Cline's "Walkin' After Midnight" took off after her very successful debut on Blair Garner’s syndicated “After MidNite” Country Radio show. Eileen’s most recent single “Hollywood” is making waves on country stations and currently climbing the charts.

Eileen’s latest CD, Hearts of Time, is surpassing all expectations. Meanwhile she’s working on a new CD collection that includes collaborations with major Nashville songwriters. Eileen will be performing July 31st at Whisky a go go in California.
