Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) July 31, 2006 -- Today, Big Nerd Ranch, Inc. announced today the next Cocoa Bootcamp is slated for October 9-13, 2006. The bootcamp, taught by instructor and Big Nerd Ranch founder, Aaron Hillegass, is the seminal class in Cocoa programming and provides the most comprehensive and current class available in utilizing Cocoa for development needs. Programmers looking to expand their repertoire into Cocoa development will find Big Nerd Ranch's Cocoa Bootcamp the best training available.

In five, content-rich days, the student will leave the class knowledgeable in the following key areas:

- the ability to write complex applications for Mac OS X
- fluency in Objective-C
- mastery of Interface Builder and Xcode
- the ability to find and understand the online documentation
- familiarity with the most common classes in the frameworks
- understanding of the design patterns used in Cocoa
- ability to recognize several common idioms in the Cocoa community

The course requires no previous experience in coding with Cocoa but students attending the bootcamp should be familiar with an object-oriented language like Java or C++. The primary text for the class is "Cocoa Programming for Mac OS X" by Aaron Hillegass, the course instructor.

"One of the hallmarks of a Big Nerd Ranch class is our total immersion approach to instruction. Just as you would begin an foreign language immersion class by speaking immediately in that language, I like to begin the class with students building their first application in Cocoa," commented Aaron Hillegass. "Not only does it get the student's feet wet, but it also shows the accessibility of the Cocoa language. Using that as a starting point, the introduction of new and more advanced concepts makes more sense as the week progresses. By the end of the week, participants are adeptly developing complex code."
