A unique CD has families singing and saving money!

Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) July 6, 2006 -- “Songs like ‘S-A-V-E’ and ‘Get in the Habit’ are contagious,” stated Sam X Renick, children’s author, songwriter, and founder of The It’s a Habit! Company, whose new 15 song music CD titled – ‘Mission 1 Celebrate Saving’ went on sale last week for $9.99. “Young or old, they immediately energize you and ignite conversation. How many educational materials, particularly financial, can you say that about?”

Experts, parents, and children from around the nation agree. Their response to the music and the messages has been extremely enthusiastic.

“I give it a thumbs up!” stated Laura Levine, Executive Director of the National Jumpstart Coalition and mom. “The CD has a much more ‘grown up’ sound. I think, even for little kids, it’s the right way to go.”

“My daughter and her friends love the CD,” exclaimed Gerri Detweiler, author and mom.

“As soon as the car door closes, my son says, 'Daddy, Sammy Rabbit please,’” said Chad Foster, nationally acclaimed speaker and dad.

“The music has a lot going for it,” shared Adam Rabiner, Director of Financial Education Programs for the New York State Banking Department, dad, and music enthusiast. “For one, it is varied. The range of styles is wide and includes reggae, melodic hip hop, classic rock, Latin, gospel, disco/funk. The words are clearly enunciated and the disc comes with a lyrics sheet. The singers, both male and female, have very pleasant and strong voices. The music, even though targeting children, is mature and not condescending. All the songs reinforce the message of savings, budgeting, planning, earning, avoiding debt, etc.”

The CD is the company’s latest release in its line of products featuring ‘Sammy, the get in the habit rabbit!’

“Sammy’s a critical part of our communication and education formula,” declared Renick. “One thing our national ‘Rock, Read, and Save’ tour has proven is that everyone loves him!”

Dr. Richard Gilbert, Professor of Psychology, at Loyola Marymount University, in Los Angeles believes relationships make a significant difference when it comes to learning.

“The most powerful tool in educating a child is not the curriculum or the methods of instruction,” stated Dr. Gilbert. “It is the quality of the relationship that forms between the teacher and the child. The great value of Sammy in promoting positive habits in children lies in the level of enjoyment and connection he inspires in the children he teaches. Sammy’s emotional appeal to young children makes them eager and enthusiastic to learn.”

“Financial illiteracy is a serious and growing problem,” shared Renick. “Families, particularly youth, are enslaving themselves with the seemingly small choices they make daily. It is crucial we develop effective strategies to help parents and educators engage and reach kids before they unwittingly destroy their dreams.”
