Former Busch Champion Steve Grissom to drive the 07 Chevrolet in 2007 for DLP Racing.

Dallas, TX (PRWEB) August 10, 2006 -- Steve Grissom has joined DLP Racing to pilot the un-sponsored 07 Chevrolet for the 2006-2007 NASCAR Busch Series season. Grissom began his racing career as a child, working on cars with his father Wayne, who was a sponsor of short track drivers in their homestate of Alabama. He soon began racing cars himself, balancing that and being captain of his high school football and basketball teams. He eventually joined the Winston All-Pro Series, and won the championship in 1985. The next season, he was nominated for Alabama Pro Athlete of the Year.

Grissom made his Busch Series debut in 1986. He ran four races over the next two years, his best finish being an 11th. In 1988, he moved into the series full-time. Despite a lack of major sponsorship, Grissom had four top-tens and finished 13th in points. In 1989, he landed funding from Texas Pete Sauces, and moved to twelfth in points. With Big Mama Meats on board as sponsor, Grissom won four races and finished 3rd in points in 1990, behind Chuck Bown and Jimmy Hensley. Unfortunately, a lack of funding kept Grissom from competing for the championship, as he had just one win and slid back to tenth in points. After Channellock came on board in 1992, Grissom regained his success of 1990, winning two races, and clinching the Busch Series championship in 1993.

SUN Management Group, Inc. will be exclusively handling the sponsorship acquisition for the 2006 - 2007 racing season. SUN will also be handling all of the public and media relations, advertising, and marketing for DLP. Total Sponsorship package is $15,000,000 for 70 races, including all of the NASCAR Busch Series and Nextel Cup Series races. SUN Chairman & CEO, CJ Comu, states, “This is an exciting and powerful venue for our corporate clients to engage in. We are delighted to be a part of the phenomena and growth of NASCAR and the opportunities provided.”

DLP Racing has a rich history of catering to their sponsors. With an advertising package that can be adjusted to each individual corporation, it’s a “win-win” combination. Team owner, Robert Drake’s, mission is simple: “Our goal is to field for our Sponsors and Fans, competitive race cars on a consistent basis with the goal of winning races and championships. Our expectation is that we will see in our growth and success, things that would have never been accomplished except by the faithfulness and support of our Sponsors and the Lord.”

“We are REALLY looking forward to giving exclusive sponsorship acquisition to SUN Management Group. They are a great group of people who really know my business and can help in so many different ways,” says Robert Drake. “Now that we have professionals helping, this should be a win-win situation for us and our sponsors!”

Advertisers will receive show cars to travel to their businesses, personal appearances with Steve Grissom to speak and sign autographs, hospitality tents (or suites) and tickets to entertain their corporate clients at the race tracks, rights to all logos on the race car every weekend, ability to advertise that they are a supporter of the Doug Flutie Foundation for Autism, rights to percentage of profits from apparel each week, logos on all transporters, uniforms, and advertising, free television and radio advertising for the entire year, and so much more.

SUN and DLP are filling sponsorships immediately for 2006 and 2007. Packages are designed for one race, 4 races, or the entire season and can be negotiated due to the company’s needs. Corporations wanting to get involved in NASCAR Busch Series, or NASCAR Nextel Cup Series, with a great organization at a low entry cost, with a “corporation-friendly” contract and perks, or would like to hear more information about DLP, Steve Grissom, and Doug Flutie’s Autism Foundation, please contact:
