Travelers’ Secret: Fall is Best at Florida’s Emerald Coast Beaches

Summer traditionally draws throngs of vacationers to the beautiful sugar-white sands of northwest Florida’s Emerald Coast. But, experienced travelers have a secret: October is the best month of all.

Miramar Beach, FL (PRWEB) August 11, 2006 -- During peak summer months, vacationers flock to the beautiful sugar-white sands of northwest Florida’s Emerald Coast beaches. But, experienced travelers will always plan a week or even a long weekend in October, when crowds are smaller, condo rental prices are lower and the weather is close to perfect.

One of the region’s biggest draws is Destin, where visitors enjoy amenities extending from the upscale Sandestin resort area to the quaint city’s original fishing village area. Known as the “World’s Luckiest Fishing Village,” Destin, located midway between Pensacola and Panama City, boasts the nation’s largest privately-owned charter fishing boat fleet, as well as many of Florida’s top-rated golf courses and restaurants, and expansive shopping offerings.

According to Suzanne Harris, general manager of Edgewater Beach Condominium, one of Destin’s most popular vacation rental providers, October has it all over the summer for visitors in the mood for relaxation.

“Most of Destin’s extensive array of amenities is still available, there is plenty of room at the beach, our temperatures are ideal and our emerald waters are spectacular,” Harris said. “You might even be a witness to one of nature’s most amazing sights when thousands of stingrays pass through during their southern migration.”

Fall’s more relaxed pace also translates to more relaxed Destin condo rental rates, which is attractive to everyone from long-weekend to longer-term renters.

“Our vacation rental guests always love visiting from October through December, when Destin abounds with great events and festivals,” Harris said. “Lower rates and our private beach provide a great value.”

While Harris always advises visitors to book their Destin vacation rental as early as possible, she says that last-minute reservations often can be accommodated. “We have many guests who decide spur-of-the-moment to visit for a romantic getaway or a long weekend during school breaks, either driving in or taking advantage of the lower airfare that typically is offered during the early fall months,” Harris said.

Edgewater Beach Condominium sits majestically on Miramar Beach, between Destin and Sandestin. Featuring a touch of the French Riviera, its unique architecture is among Florida’s most recognizable landmarks. The resort offers distinctively appointed one, two, and three bedroom condominiums, each with a private balcony overlooking lushly landscaped gardens, three sparkling swimming pools and the Gulf of Mexico.
