North Yorkshire B&B Owner is using the power of the internet to unite the independents in the Tourism Industry to voice their concerns about the proposed Bed Tax on http://www.bandbowner.com/public/33

(PRWEB) August 18, 2006 -- As Sir Michael Lyons nears the end of his Inquiry into Local Government Finance, the Tourism Industry now faces the real possiblility of introduction of the latest stealth tax, known as the Bed Tax.

B&B Owner Chris Parkin, of Helmsley North Yorkshire, is using the power of the internet to unite the independents to voice their concerns while they still can before Sir Michaels' Final Report is published at the end of this year.

I have already had a lot of feedback from the industry which I will take this with me when I meet Sir Michael during a consultation meeting on Friday 18th August
"There can be no doubt, the introduction of a Bed Tax will be crippling for the smaller independents in the accomodation market. And the fallout will be felt throughout the wider tourism industry" Says Chris who has already had strong feedback from his on-line survey.

"So far 92% of owners and operators are opposed to the introduction of the Bed Tax, " he confirms.

Chris has now set up a web-page which asks for comments and feedback which he will deliver to Sir Michael, on his B&B website, dedicated to independent accomodation providers: www.bandbowner.com/public/330.cfm.

"I have already had a lot of feedback from the industry which I will take this with me when I meet Sir Michael during a consultation meeting on Friday 18th August"

Chris will continue to post the comments and feedback he gets on his web-site as this shows the deep concerns of the small business owners in this industry and will ask Sir Michael to visit the site before he concludes his Inquiry.

"There is still time for the hospitality industry to inform and influence this Inquiry and I hope my site will give a focal point and be a voice for independent accomodation providers"

Chris sums up: "We really need to unite if we are going to be heard, SO I invite every UK accomodation provider to use my form at www.bandbowner.com/public/330.cfm. to help prevent the introduction of the Bed Tax.

Chris Parkin has 30 years experience in the hospitality sector, he owns and runs The Carlton Lodge in Helmsley, an eight room Bed and Breakfast business.

He set up www.Bandbowner.com (B&B Owner.com) which is now recognised as the leading online support service for smaller accommodation providers in the UK. Acting as a voice for the industry it keeps its Members within the law and provides advice on all aspects of operating a serviced accommodation business.

From marketing and red tape to new legislation and publicity and PR. Bandbowner.com also features a comprehensive downloadable library of software and templates specifically for B&B's, Guesthouses and small Hotels.

He also runs a consultancy business for B&B Owners.
