New Hampshire Selected as Site for Baldrige Conference

Nashua, NH (PRWEB) August 24, 2006 -- The Baldrige National Quality Program, part of the U.S. Department of Commerce, announces New Hampshire’s Granite State Quality Council and the Vermont Council for Quality as co-hosts of the eastern 2006 Baldrige Regional Conference and Pre-Conference workshop September 20th and 21st at the Sheraton Nashua Hotel in Nashua, New Hampshire.

The Conference will feature speakers and workshop presentations from Malcolm Baldrige Award recipients. The Baldrige Award is given by the President of the United States to organizations that are judged to be outstanding in the seven areas of the Criteria for Performance Excellence: leadership; strategic planning; customer and market focus; measurement, analysis, and knowledge management; human resource focus; process management; and results.

Eleven Baldrige Award recipients including 2005 recipients Sunny Fresh Foods, Inc. (manufacturing); DynMcDermott Petroleum Operations (service); Park Place Lexus (small business); Jenks Public Schools (education); Richland College (education); and Bronson Methodist Hospital (health care) will present best practices and results in all areas of the Criteria for Performance Excellence. Former Award recipients will participate in town hall sessions and make presentations on topics of special interest including how school systems can use Baldrige with No Child Left Behind and using Baldrige to manage in uncertain times. Whether an organization is small or large, in education, government, health care, manufacturing, non-profit, or service, participants will benefit from the knowledge and experience of the Baldrige Award recipients.

A Pre-Conference workshop (limit 60 participants) will be presented on the afternoon of September 20th. This optional workshop is designed to familiarize people new to Baldrige with the Program and the Criteria to maximize their learning at the Conference. The Workshop is not a prerequisite to attend the Conference and is available with or without a Regional Conference registration.
                                                                    
New Hampshire Governor John Lynch is expected to welcome leaders and performance improvement practitioners from across the country to start a day of dynamic and interactive learning and networking on September 21st.

The Pre-Conference Workshop fees are $100 with Conference Registration or $150 Workshop Only.

Conference registration fees - Advance by August 31st - $445 and Regular - $495.

Faculty and group discounts for five or more registrants are available.
