Gourmet restaurant opens second location in Larchmont.

(PRWEB) August 26, 2006 -- Rossano Lanterna, chef-owner of Larchmont’s newest authentic Tuscan restaurant will host the first annual Wine Dinner and Italian Art Show on Wednesday, September 13, 7:30 PM, featuring a four-course Italian gourmet experience along with several Tuscan specialty wines.

Rossano Giannini, chef-owner of Lanterna Tuscany Bistro is originally from Lucca, Italy. Rossano. who brought authentic northern Italian cuisine to Nyack, now has opened a second restaurant in Larchmont. If you want authentic Italian food prepared by a real Italian chef then Lanterna Tuscany Bistro is the place to go. Lanterna Tuscan Bistro East, in the quaint village of Larchmont offers lunch and dinner and reflects the culinary skill and Tuscan upbringing of renowned Executive Chef Rossano Giannini. “We have a passion for great Italian food and wines,” said Rossano. “Our wine-dinner-art events offer an opportunity to have a total Italian gourmet wine, food and cultural experience.”

My goal is to have you feel the warmth of the Italian people and their culture and I hope that these images allow you to be absorbed by the colors and the textures of old world Italy.
Accompanying Lanterna’s Tuscan Bistro of Larchmont wine and dinner feast, guests will indulge in the artistic ambiance of the Italian Art Show with Photo Paintography by noted Artist Marv Alpert. Mr. Alpert merges the antiquity of scenes in Italy with cutting edge graphic design. His photographs allow one to step back in time to experience those images that capture the soul of an ancient tranquil period while using modern digital computer technological advances. Marv clicks his camera’s shutter and then returns to his digital darkroom to transform his photo into a painting.

Marv likes to call what he does a unique blend of fine art painting, photography and technology. You will find it impossible to label the artist as a photographer or a painter and you really can’t call his work a photo or a painting. Mr. Alpert calls his mixed media style “photo-paintography”. Mr. Alpert merges the antiquity of scenes in Italy with cutting edge graphic design.

Marv and his wife make a pilgrimage almost every year to a different region of Italy. The process begins, like all good art, in the mind of the maker. He decides which specific scene or "slice of life” to capture on film and/or on digital media. Through his art Marv tries to convey a message or feeling to his viewer. Marv often feels overwhelmed when shooting his photos in Italy, trying to select the one proper scene or person to photograph from the vast beauty of antiquity in the many picturesque small towns of Italy.

The style of Marv's work is Impressionistic. This soft blending of small strokes or dabs of paint gives his work a calming and natural tone. When asked about his mission Marvin says, "My goal is to have you feel the warmth of the Italian people and their culture and I hope that these images allow you to be absorbed by the colors and the textures of old world Italy.” I hope to use the advantages of modern digital techniques, not worrying about the technical voyage or tools of the trade, but rather arriving at the destination of getting my message across to my audience.

Samples of Marv’s work can be seen at www.creativeartphotos.com. All pictures are original limited editions. A certificate of authenticity accompanies each picture.

Rossano has shown his true entrepreneur spirit by being the first person to bring Italian gourmet dining, and wine tasting to the Westchester Italian restaurant scene. Now Rossano is the first to merge a wine dinner and art exhibit into one delightful entertaining night.

Lanterna Tuscan Bistro is located at 147 Larchmont Avenue, Larchmont, NY and the art exhibit, dinner and wine tasting will begin at 7:30 pm. Seating is limited. Call Rossano at 914-834-8700 for reservations. Rossano’s email is rossano@lanternausa.com. If you have any questions regarding the art show contact Marv Alpert at 516-316.2011.
