Woodcare expert Sadolin is leading the campaign to encourage people in the UK to DIY, after a survey into DIY styles showed that 41% would rather pay someone else to do the job than do-it-themselves.* In an attempt to reverse this trend – and save British householders a yearly average of £440 on handyman fees, enough for an extra holiday or a stack of new outfits - Sadolin has launched the very first DIY podcasts, specially designed to educate the DIY novice.

(PRWEB) August 27, 2006 -- Woodcare expert Sadolin is leading the campaign to encourage people in the UK to DIY, after a survey into DIY styles showed that 41% would rather pay someone else to do the job than do-it-themselves.*

In an attempt to reverse this trend – and save British householders a yearly average of £440 on handyman fees, enough for an extra holiday or a stack of new outfits - Sadolin has launched the very first DIY podcasts, specially designed to educate the DIY novice.

Which of the following statements, if any, comes closest to how you would describe your own DIY style?
Available for download from sadolin.co.uk, these easy to use, step by step guides have been recorded by TV presenter and gadget guru, Jason Bradbury and strive to make DIY tasks a little less nerve-wracking.

Chris Wingrove, technical consultant at Sadolin, comments; “If the thought of DIY makes you more likely to reach for a phone to call the handyman than for a paintbrush, these podcasts are for you. Whereas written instructions can often seem daunting if you’ve little or no DIY experience, a friendly voice chatting you through what to do – without any of the usual jargon – is much more user-friendly.”

So if treating your deck or varnishing your wooden floor are at the top of this summer’s DIY list, kickstart a DIY career by logging onto www.sadolin.co.uk and letting the ‘expert in your ear’ help you along.

"Which of the following statements, if any, comes closest to how you would describe your own DIY style?"

- Quick and easy – instant makeover is for me = 12%
- I hate reading instructions – I just want to get on with the job   = 10%
- I take pride in my work –it’s a labour of love = 34%
- DIY – not likely, I’d rather pay someone else to do it = 41%
- None of these = 3%
- Don’t know = 1%
