“Confessions from the Velvet Ropes” author Glenn Belverio will be making an appearance at New York’s Astor Place Barnes and Noble store with the book’s subject, club doorman Thomas Onorato on Friday, September 8th.

New York, NY (PRWEB) August 30, 2006 –- Author Glenn Belverio and club doorman Thomas Onorato will be doing a reading and signing of their book “Confessions from the Velvet Ropes: The Glamorous, Grueling Life of Thomas Onorato, New York’s Top Club Doorman” (St. Martin’s Griffin) at the Barnes and Noble at 3 Astor Place in New York City.

The book—which made the Barnes and Noble national bestseller list last month—is a collection of wild and hilarious true tales from Onorato’s nine year career as a doorman to some of the city’s most exciting clubs, fashion shows, and celebrity parties. From crowd-surfing Nicky Hilton to the front of the line at a chaotic Kimora Lee Simmons fashion show to the night Adrien Brody’s birthday party was bombarded with eggs, Onorato has seen it all and tells all in the pages of “Confessions.”

Bestselling author Camille Paglia has said of “Confessions” author Belverio, “Glenn Belverio has a devastatingly urban eye. An ultra-hip arbiter of style, he commands the fine line between fashion and flash. He is a superb guide to the underworld of earthly delights.”

In Touch Magazine called Confessions from the Velvet Ropes, “a juicy read!”, while OK! Magazine raved, “"Sharp and insightful, you'll have all the details you need to feel like a V.I.P." The Calgary Herald said, "Anyone who's secretly -- or not-so-secretly -- aspired to live the glamorous club life will find Confessions from the Velvet Ropes hard to resist.”

"Confessions from the Velvet Ropes is like a surreal mash-up of Party Girl and Apocalypse Now, or Please Kill Me and Night of the Living Dead. It's packed with absurdly juicy war stories from the velvet goldmine of New York clubland, down and dirty yet screamingly funny tales from the door-bitch jungle, full of crazed revelers, wasted starlets, fashion pimps, and sex behind the ice machine. Brilliant stuff." --Rob Sheffield, writer for Rolling Stone magazine
