New Match.com Survey Finds Love is More Important than Friendship, Work or Financial Security

Match.com Responds With Exclusive Six-Month Guarantee

Dallas, Texas (PRWEB) August 28, 2006 – According to a recent Match.com survey of more than 1,500 single people1, one in three said they wished love would come with a guarantee. In fact, when asked which things in life they wished came with a guarantee, love ranked higher than friendship, jobs and financial security.

“I think that having the unconditional love of someone who really ‘gets’ me would make it easier to face life’s challenges, such as losing a job or experiencing a health scare,” said one 34-year-old female survey respondent. “Everything else seems insignificant compared with having someone care about you always.”

I just haven’t met anyone who’s who sparks that certain magic for me.
Another female survey respondent in her mid-40s said: “Real love is just so hard to come by. I also think financial security and friendship are inclusive of love – if you are in love with a committed partner then you also have friendship and together, hopefully, you have financial security. So in a way, love encompasses so many other things that if you had a guarantee in love, then you'll be guaranteed those other things.”

Surprisingly, the same survey indicated that while many aspire for a guaranteed love, they are not taking advantage of opportunities to meet new people and aren’t optimistic about their chances of finding love. More than 50 percent of those surveyed did not go on a single date in a typical six-month period, and nearly 70 percent said they didn’t believe they would meet the right person for them in the next six months.

“I haven’t had a date in over a year, and not for lack of trying either,” said a male survey respondent in his late 30s. “I just haven’t met anyone who’s who sparks that certain magic for me.”

That's why Match.com, the world's #1 site for love and the service responsible for more marriages than any other, has launched its new Make Love HappenTM Guarantee. The guarantee promises new subscribers they’ll meet someone special in six months or less, or Match.com will give them an additional six-month subscription for free.

“With the largest community of quality people looking for a serious relationship, we’re confident that new members will have nothing to lose and everything to gain by taking advantage of our exclusive guarantee,” said Kristin Kelly, spokeswoman for Match.com. “We hear from successful couples every single day who want to share their love stories with us. That’s why we believe Match.com is the only company who can truly make this type of promise to its customers.”

New Match.com members who sign up by November 30th are eligible for the guarantee as long as they follow a few very simple guidelines. The guidelines are outlined in more detail on the website and basically require the following:

  • Post a truthful profile with a current photo.
  • Keep it visible for six months on the site.
  • Communicate with at least five other Match.com members.

And to help the new members track their progress, Match.com offers a special site to view their progress during the six-month period.
