Online Resource for Elementary Teachers Improves Communication with Students and Parents

Download this press release as an Adobe PDF document.

K-5Link is a web based application that provides elementary school teachers, students, and parents ready access to school and class information, and improved and easy intercommunications. The application may be used by any parent or student with a computer and internet access.

(PRWEB) August 31, 2006 -- K-5Link is an online teacher resource tool for use by elementary school teachers that provides an always-available Internet communications channel between teacher, students, and parents and increases student and parent participation.

Designed in close collaboration with elementary school teachers, K-5Link provides a convenient way for a classroom teacher to communicate with students on either a class-wide or a personal level. Teachers can readily input school announcements, forms, photos of school events, and homework or special assignments for student and parent viewing and downloading. K-5Link keeps students organized by keeping them aware of what’s expected, because upcoming events, assignments, and deadlines are always available online.

Controlled by the classroom teacher, K-5Link lets students log in when absent to upload work assignments. Students can communicate with the teacher or other students via a secure private email facility, rather than over the open Internet.
K-5Link gives parents and students quick access to school and class information from any Internet-connected computer, and convenient access to forms and permission slips that often get lost or forgotten.

K-5Link also features teacher facilities for lesson plan preparation, and for secure entry of grades on a per assignment basis. Parents may view their child’s grade summary or grades for individual assignments. District Reading and Writing Assessment Scores may also be entered and viewed by parents for their child.

The K-5Link application is available to individual elementary school teachers on a subscription basis, and to schools on a school-wide subscription basis. A FREE 60-day subscription is available for a limited time.

More information is available at the K-5Link website: http://ww.k-5link.org.
