Although feared to have a huge impact on Miami Beach tourism, Hurricane Ernesto lost steam and was downgraded to a tropical storm.
(PRWEB) September 1, 2006 -- Initially feared to have the force of 2005’s Hurricane Katrina, Hurricane Ernesto lost force and weakened to a tropical storm on Sunday, August 27. Although forecasters worried that the storm would pick up force and resume its hurricane status, Ernesto did not hit the state of Florida with hurricane force.
Miami Beach’s oceanfront Newport Beachside Resort (http://www.newportbeachsideresort.com) remained open and honored all reservations through the pre-storm panic. Resort general manager Barry Harris is advising guests that “Ernesto is over and all is great in paradise.” The food is hot, the beach is groomed, and the resort is in full swing for end of summer travel.
