US Recall News Aggregates Consumer Alerts from Six Government Websites

US Recall News collects consumer recall alerts from the six major US government organizations responsible for recalling products, and aggregates the news into one non-governmental website: www.usrecallnews.com .

Denver, Colorado (PRWEB) September 1, 2006 -- US Recall News is now providing American consumers with up-to-date product recall alerts from all six major governmental organizations responsible for issuing product recalls in various categories.

This non-governmental website gathers important recall alerts from various governmental entities and makes them all available from a single location. The recall alerts are compiled from: the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Consumer Products Safety Commission (CPSC), National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), and the US Coast Guard.

Each of these government organizations is responsible for issuing recalls on a certain type of product. These are divided into the following six categories on US Recall News: http://www.usrecallnews.com/food_drug_recall.php [food and drug], http://www.usrecallnews.com/consumer_product_recall.php [consumer products], http://www.usrecallnews.com/auto_recall.php[ vehicles and auto parts], http://www.usrecallnews.com/meat_poultry.php [meat and poultry], http://www.usrecallnews.com/meat_poultry.php [marine products and water crafts], and http://www.usrecallnews.com/environmental.php [environmental recall alerts].

A long-time freelance writer, Everett Sizemore created the website with the intent of attracting fellow journalists. “I thought it would be a good resource for online journalists and bloggers to utilize when researching corporate responsibility issues,” says Mr. Sizemore. “But as it turns out, a lot of people are interested in finding this information on their own, so the site has really turned into a useful portal for American consumers as a whole”.

Most of the information on US Recall News is taken directly from government press releases and recall alert news feeds. However, Mr. Sizemore has created a blog section for discussing recall and corporate responsibility issues in an editorial setting.

The website is monetized by running Google AdSense advertisements. US Recall News has little control over these, and Mr. Sizemore likes it that way. “It allows us to be free of any potential conflicts-of-interest that could result when a traditional news source is presented with a recall news story about one of their advertisers,” he explains.

US Recall News is a non-governmental website privately operated out of Denver, Colorado. It is in no way affiliated with any government institution.
