School supplies will be presented to Barnum School students on September 5.
BRIDGEPORT, CT (PRWEB) September 1, 2006 -- Aquarion Water Company employees are making back-to-school a little easier for inner-city students who attend Barnum School in Bridgeport. Employees launched a Back-to-School Supplies Drive to purchase and fill 290 bags with necessary learning tools, including crayons, pens, glue, and notebooks, for each student at the school. Additionally, W.B. Mason has generously donated $150 and a large quantity of pencils to Barnum School.
Aquarion President and Chief Executive Officer Charles V. Firlotte will present the supplies to a group of students and Principal, Deborah Broccoli, on Tuesday September 5th at 10:00 a.m. Barnum is Aquarion’s School-Business Partner.
Firlotte said, “We realize that the cost to prepare children for school can be challenging for some families. We hope that these supplies help to alleviate some of the stress that can occur when youngsters do not have the right tools to start the new year.”
Broccoli said, “Barnum truly appreciates Aquarion’s employees for their generous donations, which will go directly to Barnum School students. This will help ensure that all students will begin the school year with a focus on learning.”
“Several Aquarion employees volunteer at Barnum School and serve as professional mentors,” Firlotte said. “As such, we appreciate every opportunity to make a positive difference in their lives.”
