College Students Launch Landmark Advertising Medium, Goldenseconds.com

Nevermind Superbowl Sunday commercials or Times Square billboards, here comes the new thing.

Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) September 4, 2006 -- Patrick Falls and Ricky Liunarto today announced the launch of GoldenSeconds, a web site that offers advertisers spots on goldenseconds.com for video commercials. The founders have made available 1,000,000 seconds for purchase starting at one dollar ($1) per-second.

At one dollar per second, advertisers receive a permanent spot on goldenseconds.com and have the option to increase exposure of their video by increasing the per-second amount paid. The current high-bidder and holder of the number one spot on the GoldenSeconds homepage is PrintsMadeEasy.com, with a thirty-second clip at the per second price of two dollars ($2).

By posting a video on goldenseconds.com, advertisers receive a fully customizable profile page that includes the video in streaming Flash format, a rating system and comment engine.

The founders began selling spots to friends and family and have already sold over 2000 seconds to several companies including PrintsMadeEasy.com, AmazeFilms, duanamic design, Rukus Avenue and Automated Clearing House.

The site's twenty-two categories include, Autos & Vehicle, Books & Literature, Clothing & Fashion, Communications, Computers & Electronics, Events, Gambling, Gaming, Health & Body, Household, Internet, Jewelry, Lifestyle, Media & Advertising, Movies & Entertainment, Music, Politics, Services, Sports, Travel and Everything Else.

"Rather than creating another YouTube, our vision was to create a commercial video hub -- a place where well known brands and small companies alike can display video messages of their products and services," says company cofounder Patrick Falls. Patrick admits that the initial catalyst for starting the web site was being told by one of his professors that the idea was silly and that no one would buy “seconds” for money.

GoldenSeconds was developed by college students, Patrick Falls and Ricky Liunarto, in order to create the next landmark advertising medium. About Patrick Falls Patrick Falls, 21, was born and reared in Westlake Village, California. He is currently pursuing a B.S. in Computer Science from Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles and is expecting to graduate in 2007.

Patrick is involved in various organizations including the Association of Computing Machinery. Patrick first realized his passion for computing when he discovered his first ISP, Prodigy. He considers himself fanatical about the internet and never ceases to be amazed by the fact that you can stay on the internet for hours and not learn a thing. When Patrick isn’t searching the web for useful topics, he enjoys Latin percussion, football (round ball) and collecting hats.

About Ricky Liunarto Ricky Liunarto, 24, was born in Surabaya, Indonesia. Ricky lived in Surabaya until August 2000 when he moved to California to pursue a degree in computer science. In 2004 Ricky graduated from UCLA with a B.S. in computer science. After graduating from his undergraduate studies, Ricky decided to pursue a master’s degree in computer science from his alma mater to gain an expertise in database design and web development.

In an effort to apply what he was learning in his coursework, Ricky decided to start a web site. After seeing a need for a hub for commercial videos, he embarked on building GoldenSeconds. His goal was to create the "fifth avenue" for internet videos. One of the most exciting things about working on this project is (hopefull) being listed on Wikipedia as the founder of something. When Ricky is not indulging in his passion of database development, he enjoys watching movies and football (round ball).
