Disaster Trailer Navigates Harsh Rubicon Trail

All terrain system manufactured by Campa USA handles some of the most treacherous off road conditions in the country during annual Jeep Jamboree event.

North Ridgeville, OH (PRWEB) September 6, 2006 -- For most participants in last month’s Jeep Jamboree - Rubicon Trail in Northern California, navigating a vehicle through the grueling 22 mile off road landscape proved a daunting task. It was no surprise, then, when doubters and naysayers emerged as Campa USA decided to travel the rugged trail with a Disaster Reconnaissance System (DRS) in tow.

The DRS unit, a highly mobile, all terrain trailer is manufactured by Campa USA (www.campausa.com) and designed to handle extreme off road conditions such as are found on the Rubicon Trail.

"Successfully navigating the Rubicon Trail demonstrates the Campa’s ability to traverse extreme terrain as may be found after natural disasters," said Chris Cole, president and founder of the company.

Campa’s Disaster Reconnaissance System (DRS) was designed to be a completely self-contained survival unit for rapid deployment in emergency and disaster situations.

The design and functionality of the DRS is similar to that of the Campa All Terrain Trailer (ATT), which is geared for camping and outdoor enthusiasts. Both units are made almost entirely of stainless steel.

"Both the DRS and the ATT offer users, whether disaster response personnel, outdoorsmen or even those escaping hurricanes, a self-contained survival system able to navigate extreme terrain," Cole added.

The Jeep Jamboree - Rubicon Trail is a three-day, annual event where 4x4 enthusiasts navigate their vehicles over legendary obstacles such as "Big Sluice" and "Cadillac Hill."

Cole, who is an avid outdoor enthusiast, contends that taking a Campa trailer on these types of trails expands the horizons of the outdoor recreation experience.

"When you have the ability to be independent and self contained in an area like this, as well as the ability to travel at speeds over 70 mph on a freeway with a unit in tow, you’re living an adventure. The trail itself just becomes one part of that overall experience," he said.

The appearance by Campa USA at the Jeep Jamboree event is just one of many stops planned for the remainder of the year. The company will be showcasing their trailers in cities such as Atlanta, Colorado Springs, Orlando and San Antonio in the near future.
