DoveCalls, the new business that delivers messages, cards, flowers, and the singing of love songs or hymns, now offers its services for free for orders that will be received by or orders made by active duty military servicemen and -women. An original song is also made available for the support and encouragement of all soldiers and their loved ones.
Filer, ID (PRWEB) September 7, 2006 -- DoveCalls (www.SendADoveCall.com), the new company based out of southern Idaho that delivers Christian “singing telegrams” live locally or by phone nationwide, is now presenting a special offer. Sporting a waving American flag immediately under its tag line on its website homepage is an offer to give free services to and from active military servicepeople.
SendADoveCall.com now includes a new page entitled “Free To Or From Active Military Page” in its menu or linked right from the homepage. An excerpt reads, “DoveCalls fully supports all United States soldiers, serving overseas or here at home. We would like to help raise the spirits, morale, and inspire U.S. military servicemen and -women by offering hymn or love song singing telegram gifts to or from a loved one for FREE.” The page finishes with, “We thank all our soldiers and those who love them for their constant sacrifice and bravery in protecting us. WE NEED YOU!! We are proud and grateful and pray for your safety and continued strength.” DoveCalls’ entrepreneur has also made available an extra gift for both active duty military people and their loved ones, as described below.
DoveCalls offers three services, including local home/hospital/care facility deliveries of sung Christian hymns with a flower and a card; phone calls nationwide in which hymns are sung and a card is mailed; and private weekly sessions for home-bound, nursing facility, or comfort care patients. The phone service is primarily the service offered in regard to the free-for-military offer, though should a loved one or active duty military personnel happen to be local, home delivery services would also be free.
DoveCalls also offers the same services for secular love songs; available songs are listed on the website.
Phone service delivery is often available the same day that the order is placed, but requested dates are also accepted.
DoveCalls says that whether one is an active military serviceperson who wishes to send a special message home to a spouse or significant other or mom or dad, or a person who loves an active duty soldier that wishes to send special thoughts to that soldier, the services are completely free. The card is still included. It is DoveCalls' position that it is not that the soldiers and troops and families have already paid with their sacrifices, it is that they never owed anything in the first place, that this is what DoveCalls has to give back, that it is we who owe.
In addition to the free service offer, Nancy Kestie, the owner and operator of DoveCalls, has also provided an original song for loved ones of soldiers to present to those soldiers. Nancy is an amateur songwriter and had felt inspired to write a song about the spouses and loved ones of the soldiers after some communication with wives of far-away soldiers. She says, “I wanted to give and I wanted it to be significant, but I don’t have much, just my voice and my piano. I started out thinking that these people who sacrifice so much and who are also very brave, that remain here with families and without their loved one, should be held up in song, too, and I wondered what I could possibly say about these incredible patriots and also touch on the idea that they are not just lovers and family members, they are also Americans, fellow countrymen, who can appreciate that everyone they care about is being protected and provided many forms of freedom; he or she is not just protecting them because they are family or lovers, but also because they are Americans.
"It then occurred to me that if I were to ask what I can give them, they would respond that it not be something for them, but that it would be something for their beloved soldier far away. So I wrote a song that a soldier’s loved one could give to him or her as a gift, encouragement, support, strength, and inspiration. This song is for both of them. And active duty is active duty, here or ‘over there’ and any duty, while understanding the differences in the dynamics of what must be endured, they all sacrifice, they are all warriors, and they would each give up his or her life for us all, not only as a whole, but even just one of us.”
Entitled “For My Warrior,” its credits include the names of some soldiers’ wives who Nancy lists as inspiration and thanks for their “contribution to the integrity of the lyrics.” Nancy recorded the accompaniment at home and the lyrics in a local studio (at the time of this release the recording is only pre-mixed, although Nancy and Midnight Productions will be making a more balanced, cleaner master copy in the near future). “For My Warrior” is made available on her website for anyone who wishes to hear it and share it, at www.SendADoveCall.com/military.html. While it is copyrighted, she encourages the emailing, sending, and sharing of this recording or links for anyone who would enjoy giving it. Nancy adds, “There is no doubt that this song was written from a spouse’s or significant other’s perspective, however, with the exception of only a couple of lyrics that can be construed as romantic, broadly the song can express any kind of love should different perspectives be applied to the contexts. I would be happy to sing ‘For My Warrior’ to any soldier from any person wishing to give its gift of support, should it be chosen for a DoveCalls singing telegram gift.”
“For My Warrior,” hymn audio samples, another original song (a comforting Christian ballad of prayer), as well as a list of love songs that can be ordered for singing telegrams, and comprehensive lists of hymns and links are available on the website. DoveCalls indicates that, while times zones and differences play a factor in its available services (phone calls are continental U.S. only), it is willing to make exceptions for active military singing telegram phone calls, wherein DoveCalls will call anywhere in the world, only requesting assistance with the time difference information and a good phone number.
DoveCalls does not consider this a promotion. “This is not a campaign,” explains Nancy, “DoveCalls will continue free-for-active-military services as long as possible. At this time there is no expiration date on this offer. It is not so much an offer for them but more of a quiet plea to extend me the opportunity to give back.”
DoveCalls is located in Filer, Idaho. A very detailed website which includes online ordering and even a blog is at www.SendADoveCall.com. Though email is the preferred communication of DoveCalls, phone calls are always welcomed, toll-free, at 1-877-356-3093 (10 a.m.-7 p.m. MST).
