The Range To Open 2006 South Padre Island Film Festival

"The Range," the fourth film directed by award winning writer, Dean J. Augustin, has been selected to open the South Padre Island Film Festival, Friday September 22nd, 2006.

McKinney, Texas (PRWEB) September 15, 2006 -- "The Range," the fourth film directed by award winning writer, Dean J. Augustin, has been selected to open the South Padre Island Film Festival, Friday September 22nd, 2006.

The South Padre Island Film Festival (SPIFF) presents shorts and features from around the world. The festival will be held at the South Padre Island Convention Center on South Padre Island, Texas. For three days, you can enjoy everything from documentaries to horror flicks.

"It's truly an honor to be included in the South Padre Island Film Festival's busy schedule," says Augustin. "Opening the festival is reflection of the truly talented artists that made The Range possible."

"The Range," is a musical documentary that explores one of the most unique radio stations in the United States, KHYI also known as The Range. KHYI plays what its listeners call OKOM, Our Kind of Music, Hard Country. The musical elements included performances by Becca Dalrymple, Trent Summar and The New Row Mob, Lonesome Bob, Pinmonkey, and Dallas Wayne.

According to actor Anthony Maru-Deserio, "The Range is absolutely amazing. Truly your (The Good Fight Digital Motion Pictures) best work, perhaps because the characters are real people and they tell there stories so well. Dean did an outstanding job blending them into one big picture."
