WAY Systems Names Chief Operating Officer; Firm Also Adds Other Executives

WAY Systems, Inc., based in Boston, MA, and the fastest-growing provider of mobile POS payment systems utilizing state-of-the-art mobile phone technology, announced that Bruce Shirey has been named COO of the company. In addition, the firm's market success has resulted in the addition of other executives to the firm's management team.

BOSTON, MA (PRWEB) September 19, 2006 -- It was announced today by Will GrayLin, CEO of WAY Systems, a leading provider of wireless card payment systems and the fastest-growing provider of wireless card payment solutions, that the company, announced the appointment of Bruce Shirey to the position of Chief Operating Officer. According to Graylin, “Bruce has proven himself to be a solid asset to WAY Systems, and his solid operational experience and ‘can do’ attitude will allow him to take over the day-to-day management of WAY Systems and allow me to focus on strategic initiatives.”

Prior to Shirey’s appointment to the position of Chief Operating Officer, he held the position as Vice President of Global Services. Before joining WAY Systems, Shirey held a variety of senior positions at First Data Corporation and Cardservice International. Earlier in his career, he founded his own company and was one of the early pioneers in electronic commerce.

Concurrently, Shirey announced the appointment of two other members to the WAY Systems leadership team. John Mannix has joined the firm in the newly created position of Senior Director and Chief Information Officer. Mannix brings more than 26 years of broad based, multi-industry experience including strategic planning, applications development, project management, business process reengineering, software and hardware implementations, organization and new business development, management consulting, enterprise solutions and outsourcing. He holds a BS/BA in accounting from American International College. Most recently, John held the position of Senior Director of Information Services with Princess House a Direct Sales party plan company, which is a focus market for WAY Systems.

Additionally, Shirey announced that Bret Baumann has joined the firm’s sales team as Director of Distribution Channels, reporting to Stu Fullerton, the company’s Vice President of North American Sales. Baumann has enjoyed a 15-year distinguished sales leadership career in the payments industry. Prior to joining Way Systems, Baumann was with Lipman USA, where he was responsible for the ISO/Distribution sales channel in North America. Prior to joining Lipman USA, Baumann was with Global Payments, Inc., where he was responsible for the building and management of the sales teams throughout the Central and Western United States which generated over $1 billion in processed volume a year.
