New Free PrinterAnywhere Beta Offers Private Printer Sharing Option and AES Encryption

Download this press release as an Adobe PDF document.

PrinterAnywhere Inc. has announced a new beta release of the PrinterAnywhere software at www.PrinterAnywhere.com. The new release not only enables any user with an Internet connection to connect to any printer worldwide, but provides AES encryption for confidential documents and the ability for users to share their printers only with private users that they authorize. As with the initial release, no networking equipment or knowledge is required, and the service can be set up for free by downloading the PrinterAnywhere software on the site.

Mission, KS (PRWEB) September 20, 2006 -- PrinterAnywhere Inc. proudly announces the launch of the new free 0.9 beta release of their PrinterAnywhere software at www.PrinterAnywhere.com, which allows users to connect to members’ printers or make their printer available for others to use from anywhere in the world. The primary improvements in the latest release of the free remote printing service are the addition of AES (advanced encryption standard) technology for sending and printing confidential documents and the new ability for users to share their printer only with a pre-selected group of individuals rather than publicly.

Any user with an Internet connection still has the ability to download the free PrinterAnywhere software from the company’s website, to share their computer publicly on the network (without the use of typical networking equipment). However, the new beta release provides filtering capabilities to printer owners, allowing them to authorize only a select group of users. The new release also gives printer owners the option to queue any print jobs for approval before having them sent to their printer, or owners can still allow documents to automatically be printed without approval. Printer owners also still have the ability to open their printer publicly using the services of www.PrinterAnywhere.com.

The second major change in the 0.9 beta release from PrinterAnywhere is the ability for users to encrypt their documents using AES technology, allowing them to send private or confidential documents to a printer on the network. The encryption provides several benefits including:

1. Only the intended recipient’s printer can print the file.

2. AES encryption prevents unauthorized users from altering or even viewing the documents.

3. Second Factor Authentication prevents somebody else (even with the correct primary password) from viewing or printing the output.

4. Primary passwords can be entered by the user or generated automatically. The system also generates sufficiently long secondary passwords to ensure encryption strength.

5. This is a unique service of PrinterAnywhere, with no other known encrypted remote printing services available for free to all users.

PrinterAnywhere founder, Efraim Gershom, was invited on August 23rd to discuss the PrinterAnywhere service with Craig Grosman of Computer America, America’s longest running nationally syndicated radio talk show about computers, and part of the Business Talk Radio Network.
