Philadelphia, PA (PRWEB) September 21, 2006 -- Big Mountain Imaging, in collaboration with Moser Builders and Lisa Patrick of Alex Cole Interiors, created, designed, and manufactured the customized digital wallcovering for the Philadelphia Magazine's Design Home 2006. Big Mountain Imaging donated the creative services and printed an interior alternative for the Jack & Jill suite, formal powder room, gaming room, and study to help benefit MANNA, a non-profit organization delivering nourishment to individuals and families facing life-threatening illnesses. Design Home 2006, which is located at 532 Atterbury Road, Villanova, Pennsylvania, will be showcasing the craftsmanship and design features of this home through public tours. These tours began September 9th and continue thru October 15, 2006. Tickets are on sale and all proceeds benefit the MANNA organization.
This was the first year Big Mountain Imaging participated in the Philadelphia Magazine's Design Home. Steen sales representative, Debra Hafft, brought the idea to Fred Ciolorito, President of Big Mountain Imaging.
"When Debra approached me about the Philadelphia Magazine Design Home, I was excited by the opportunity to showcase our digital wallcovering in such a elegant and prestigious home and to support and sponsor the noble cause that this association benefited. Since this was our first time partnering with this organization I was a little nervous to be honest, but it was through the hard work and dedication of all the employees that we were able to produce and deliver a quality product, for what can be best described as a dazzling 'dream home,'" said Mr. Ciolorito. Big Mountain Imaging produced approximately 1600 square feet of digital wallcovering for the Design Home, which was installed by Tommy Anitista Paperhanging & Painting of Newtown, PA.
Lisa Patrick of Alex Cole Interiors worked with Big Mountain Imaging art director, Lesha Meyer, and Steen sales representative, Debra Hafft, to help aid in the development of the design concepts for the six rooms Big Mountain Imaging supplied the customized digital wallcovering for.
"Lisa gave us artistic license and direction for each room. She indicated that she wanted a Tuscan and contemporary feel in the gaming room, pink horizontal stripes accented with a silver pinstripe in one of the Jack 'n' Jill rooms, and stated that the theme in the adjacent room would have the feel of a budding fashion designer. The bathroom connecting both rooms would integrate both Jack 'n' Jill design themes. She also supplied artwork that was used for inspiration in designing the wallcovering for the formal powder room and wanted the ceiling in the study to resemble hammered copper," said Ms. Meyer. Lesha Meyer created and designed the digital wallcovering for the formal powder room, study, and fashion illustrations for the Jack 'n' Jill suite. Graphic artist, Morgan Phillips, created and designed the digital wallcovering for the gaming room.
On Tuesday, September 5, 2006, Jennapher Frederick of Good Day Philadelphia featured a news spotlight about Big Mountain Imaging's customized digital wallcovering in the Jack 'n' Jill suite in the Design Home.
"They highlighted how Big Mountain merged the two bedrooms with the bathroom, and how Big Mountain can put any image on any wall, and if covering an entire room is not in your budget, covering one wall can be an affordable alternative," said Debra Hafft.
Big Mountain Imaging digitally printed the custom wallcoverings on RJF International owned, Korographics materials. This Type II certified commercial grade wallcovering was specially developed and formulated for wide-format digital printers and ink systems. The Korographics line consists of ten different textures that range from a powder fine sand texture that can provide excellent detail to an ancient raw Chinese silk that adds sophistication. For the Design Home, Big Mountain used the Trade Route texture in the formal powder room, the Glassed Out substrate in the Jack 'n' Jill bathroom, Mongahello in the Tuscan themed gaming room, and Abacco Beach in both the study and Jack 'n' Jill suite.
Korographics digital wallcovering material has been listed and classified under the UL Label. The Underwriters Laboratory is an independent non-profit organization dedicated to the determination of product performance in relation to safety standards. The material meets or exceeds Federal specifications regarding building and fire codes and has the Early Warning Effect for fire detection protection.
