Sports Traveler Radio (STR) Highlights the NFL's Return to New Orleans and the Superdome

Sports Traveler Radio (STR) profiles the New Orleans as the city welcome's back the NFL one year after Hurricane Katrina, on Monday, September 25, 2006.

(PRWEB) September 22, 2006 -- Sports Traveler Radio (STR) hosted by Nick Jakusz and Angelo Bonnadonna profile the New Orleans and the New Orleans Saints as part of the broadcast teams 17-week series, "Nick and Angelo's Virtual NFL Road Trip". The broadcast/podcast features updated travel information and the true condition of the city of New Orleans as it looks to welcome back the NFL one year after Hurricane Katrina, on Monday, September 25, 2006.

"We're really excited to have something positive to look forward to," says Mary Beth Romig, Director of Communications and Public Relations with the New Orleans Metropolitan Convention and Visitors Bureau. Romig added, "The Dome is better than ever". Unlike many of the images of a devastated New Orleans so often seen in the media since Hurricane Katrina struck the area in August of 2005, Romig wanted tourists and football fans considering to visit New Orleans for a New Orleans Saints game to know that they can expect to find the historic areas of the city to be very much alive and thriving. Fans can take Riverboat cruises or even stroll the French Quarter without worry as those areas received little to no flood damage at all.

Events scheduled for the weekend include a street fair, a concert by the Goo Goo Dolls, and a small version of the NFL Experience to be set up outside of the SuperDome.

Sports Traveler Radio (STR) can be accessed online at www.sportstraveler.net or downloaded to any iPod or media player. "Nick and Angelo's Virtual NFL Road Trip" will continue throughout the NFL season broadcasting travel information about a different NFL city each week and will conclude in Miami for Super Bowl XLI.
