New initiative by a Canadian songwriter and an American artist speaks volumes about what really matters in life. Elyse Bruce and Thomas D. Taylor have created a tourism and culture initiative that benefits three cities in two countries, and that benefits two autism organizations.

Chicago, IL / Peterborough, ON (PRWEB) September 25, 2006 -- October 1st marks the official launch of the “Midnight In Chicago” tourism and culture initiative that hopes to bring recognition to the many talented but under recognized artists in Chicago (IL), Toronto (ON) and Peterborough (ON).

“With incredible support for the project from Faber-Castell, Amaco Brent, Crescent Cardboard and Strathmore Artist Papers, we look forward to a number of nominations,” says Elyse Bruce, project leader and co-creator of Midnight In Chicago. Bruce hopes this intriguing and inventive initiative will not only bring about a new appreciation for – and encourage people to purchase -- original art but also to introduce the uniqueness of three cities to each other as well as raise awareness of Asperger Syndrome, a form of autism.

With incredible support for the project from Faber-Castell, Amaco Brent, Crescent Cardboard and Strathmore Artist Papers, we look forward to a number of nominations
Artists are urged to self-nominate and to ask their circle of influence to stop in at www.midnightinchicago.com and nominate deserving artists. The ten most nominated artists in each centre will be invited to exhibit two pieces of work at a local restaurant from November 15th through to December 15th where the public will determine through votes which artist appeals most to them. The top voted artist in each centre will be announced on December 18th and presented with prize from the MIC sponsors. The Online Nominating Form will be online from October 1st through 31st at www.midnightinchicago.com.
