Stockvault.net, one of the largest free stock photo sites on the internet, has launched a $1,000 competition, aimed at photographers of all ages and backgrounds, amateur or professional.
(PRWEB) September 27, 2006 -- Stockvault.net, one of the largest free stock photo sites on the internet, has launched a $1,000 competition, aimed at photographers of all ages and backgrounds, amateur or professional. The prize is $1,000 in cash, and is offered for the best stock photo submitted to the site over the next four months.
Owner Bjorgvin Gudmundsson has seen Stockvault.net grow in popularity and reputation over recent years, having started the site as a hobby. His site is now one of the best known and respected resources for free stock photos, used for non-commercial reasons, and also offers professionally shot, high resolution, Photopacks for commercial use.
“I have received some fantastic feedback from users of the site,” says Bjorgvin, “but of course users are always hungry for more and more high quality photographs. And by quality I mean in both image quality and the standard of the shot itself.”
Stockvault.net currently offers over 5,000 free images and photos, all hand selected by Bjorgvin himself.
“I don’t accept every photo submitted,” Bjorgvin explains. “I want to maintain a high quality throughout the site. All images are at least 1,600 x 1,200 pixels in size, and are of what I would consider a good standard.”
That standard is mirrored in the Stockvault.net competition, with high quality entries expected from all corners of the world. But don’t be intimidated, some of the best photos in the world came from amateur photographers with basic equipment.
