BreastImplants411.com Sponsors Galveston Mom to Walk 60 Miles During San Diego Breast Cancer 3-Day

Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) September 8, 2006 -- BreastImplants411.com is supporting thousands of dedicated women and men at the San Diego Breast Cancer 3-Day benefiting the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation and the National Philanthropic Trust. Participants walk an average of 20 miles per day to raise breast cancer awareness throughout the communities and generate significant funds for research and community outreach programs.

BreastImplants411.com is proud to sponsor Heidi Seigel on the San Diego Breast Cancer 3-Day Walk. Heidi is walking sixty miles to honor her mother-in-law, a breast cancer survivor as well as in memory of her grandmother-in-law who was taken by cancer. As hereditary aspects play an important role in who will get cancer, Heidi decided it would be important to walk to increase awareness of the need to support cancer research until a cure is found.

“I worry about my two daughters and I walk to support research that one day may prevent or cure this horrible disease. I walk for all mothers, daughters, wives, husbands, sons and friends. Breast cancer affects everyone,” says Heidi.

This year, in the United States, approximately 200,000 women and 400 men will be diagnosed with breast cancer. Breast Cancer 3-Day participants have an opportunity to celebrate breast cancer survivorship, honor those who lost their lives to the disease, and collectively, have an enormous impact on funding for breast cancer programs.

As Heidi Seigel also pointed out, “Knowing that the Komen Foundation and the National Philanthropic Trust are involved in the Breast Cancer 3-Day assures me that the events will be well-managed and that the millions of dollars we raise will support the fight against breast cancer,” mentioned Heidi.

The Breast Cancer 3-Day in San Diego will start on Friday morning, November 10 and end with Closing Ceremonies on Sunday afternoon, November 12. Thousands of walkers will cover approximately 20 miles a day, traveling at their own pace. The walkers will be supported by hundreds of volunteer crew members who will provide meals, water and snack stops, gear transport, hot showers, portable restrooms, safety on the streets and comprehensive medical services.

In order to participate, each walker must train for the event and must commit to raising a minimum of $2,200 (many walkers will raise more than the minimum). To help prepare for the Breast Cancer 3-Day, each walker is supported by coaches who assist in all aspects of training and fundraising, while clinics, meetings, training sessions and mailings provide ongoing support.

If you would like to help Heidi reach her goal, please visit her fundraising page online. You can find it at www.the3day.org/sandiego06/heidiseigel. To learn how to participate or volunteer with the Breast Cancer 3-Day, visit www.The3Day.org or call (800) 996-3DAY.
