Stunning Novel Puts a Face on the Kurdish Struggle in Turkey

Complicated Favors: A Turkish Affair by Jeanne Reeder is a page-turning romance-adventure that brings to life the fascinating politics of Turkey.

Columbia, MO (PRWeb) January 7, 2007 -- Complicated Favors: A Turkish Affair by Jeanne Reeder explores the history, culture and the plight of the Kurds in Turkey against a backdrop of international intrigue and suspense.

For over two decades, the Turks and the Kurds have struggled violently in Turkey. The United Nations and the European Union have both tried to stop the terrorist bombings by the Kurdish rebels as well as the violent response of the Turkish military. Against this terrifying backdrop, author Jeanne Reeder has fashioned a gripping adventure story of an innocent tourist, Charly, who gets drawn into a CIA plot to thwart a terrorist act in Turkey. But when Charly begins working with an undercover Turkish military intelligence operative, she finds greater risk--and the possibility of real love.

Inspired by the reminiscences of a friend whos lived and worked in Istanbul, Reeder went to Turkey herself and immediately immersed herself in research of the politic struggle, the culture and the language. Besides being a stirring examination of the Kurdish struggle, Complicated Favors is also a glittering travelogue of life in Turkey. Part adventure, part political treatise, and wholly entertaining, Reeder's novel is as satisfying and delicious as Turkish coffee.

Complicated Favors: A Turkish Affair is available for sale online at Amazon.com, Borders.com, and through additional wholesale and retail channels worldwide.
