Calcium can still be absorbed by people suffering from acid reflux, with a calcium powder developed by Pharmacist Tom Kotronis of Tampa Bay Nutraceutical Company. A recent AMA report found that people taking antacids could not absorb enough calcium. But NutraCal has been found to be effective with heartburn medications.

Tampa, FL (PRWeb) January 9, 2007 -- People suffering from acid reflux can still absorb calcium with a powder developed by Pharmacist Tom Kotronis of Tampa Bay Nutraceutical Company, counter to concerns raised in a recent AMA report. NutraCal calcium powder has been found to be effective with heartburn medications.

One of my key reasons for developing NutraCal was to offer a solution for the millions of people taking antacid products, so that they can have both relief from their heart burn and acid reflux, but also get the calcium they need for bone health.
NutraCal is a calcium gluconate and magnesium combination which is not affected by over the counter (OTC) antacids, prescription proton pump inhibitors, or H2 blockers, like Prilosec, Nexium, Protonix, Aciphex, etc.

A critical, recent report by the AMA concerning increased risk of hip fractures for people using prescribed or over the counter antacid products has caused severe concern among users and prescribers alike. Because these products reduce the acid in the stomach, most common calcium products cannot be properly absorbed, adding to the calcium crisis in the United States and abroad. This crisis is setting people up for potential serious health problems due to the lack of calcium and magnesium as they age.

NutraCal effervescent calcium powder is composed of calcium gluconate, and is in a ready to absorb form before it enters the body for digestion. This allows the body to immediately absorb the calcium regardless of the amount of stomach acid present.

Tom Kotronis, founder NutraCal, says, “We have had this theory for many years, but this study just proves what many of us have thought all along. We are delighted that this theory has now been verified so that we can educate and help people.”

Also, stated Mr. Kotronis, “One of my key reasons for developing NutraCal was to offer a solution for the millions of people taking antacid products, so that they can have both relief from their heart burn and acid reflux, but also get the calcium they need for bone health.”

With NutraCal. People do not have to choose between their acid reflux medicine and bone health, they can have them both.

NutraCal is available online at www.nutracal.com and fine retailers nationwide. More information concerning NutraCal and proton pump inhibitors can be found at www.nutracal.com.

Founder of Tampa bay Nutraceutical Company, and developer of NutraCal, Tom Kotronis, RPh is a popular guest on many health and wellness shows, and is available for interviews or to answer questions concerning calcium deficiency and the effect antacids have on this crisis.
