The Patty Labelle Community Football League Championship Game to be held at Soboba Movie Ranch Stadium Sunday, January 14, 2007 at 1:00 p.m.
We are in the process of organizing our team for next season. Olympic Gold Medalist, Ron Brown, will be the team's General Manager.

Hollywood, CA (PRWeb) January 8, 2007 -- The Patty Labelle Community Football League Semi-Pro Championship game featuring the Western Division Champion Inglewood Blackhawks vs. the Eastern Division Champion Philadelphia Panthers will be held at the Soboba Movie Ranch Stadium on Sunday, January 14, 2007 at 1:00 p.m.

According to Tribal Chairman, Robert Salgado, "The Soboba Band of Luiseno Indians is proud to have our stadium chosen as the venue for the Championship game. We fielded our own team in the Patty Labelle League. Maybe next year we will be vying for the Championship."

The Patty Labelle Community Football League is a semi-pro league with several ex-NFL players. Tickets for the Championship game can be obtained at the Soboba Casino box office - Ph:866 476 2622 or through the Tribal Administration office - Ph:951 654 2765. General Admission is $15. "There will be a Pre-game party for VIPs starting a 10:00 a.m.," Chairman Salgado says. "Tickets for the pre-game party which includes admission, special seating, T-shirts, and a prime rib luncheon are $100 and $200."

Although she has a passion for football, Patty Labelle is best known for her hits as an R&B/Soul singer. Born Patricia Louise Holt the legendary singer originally fronted two moderately successful groups before achieving success as a solo artist in the late 1970s. In the process she has influenced a new generation of female singers. She is known for her strong vocals and her signature vocal belting. She had been largely compared to Aretha Franklin during the 1970s, but her distinguishing vocal belting remains unique and recognizable only to her. Labelle's biography, Don't Block the Blessings, remained at the top of the New York Times best seller list for several weeks. In addition, she is also a best-selling cook book author. She is widely regarded by many in the music industry, including VH1, Sir George Martin, and Rolling Stone magazine, as being one of the greatest vocalists of all time.

The Soboba Band of Luiseno Indians first became involved with the semi-pro League in early 2006 and built a stadium complete with professional lockers and regulation football field at the site of the Soboba Movie Ranch. Olympic Gold Medalist, Ron Brown, will be the team's General Manager." Ron Brown was on Americas Gold Medal 4X100-relay team with Carl Lewis when they broke the world record in the 1984 Olympics. After the Olympics, Brown joined the Los Angeles Rams and played there until 1989 when he moved to Los Angeles Raiders in1990. Brown ended his football career after the 1991 season, when he played again for the Los Angeles Rams.

The Soboba Movie Ranch is part of the Oaks Retreat and Conference Center owned by the Soboba Band of Luiseno Indians. Go to: http://www.soboba-nsn.gov/theoaks.html
