Just Say 'Know' to Prescription Drugs Campaign Kicks off 2007 With Strategic Plan for the Year and New Tools for Supporters

Year round online campaign begins working up to Just Say Know To Prescription Drugs Month in October.

New York, NY (PRWeb) January 11, 2007 -- Today, the Just Say "Know" to Prescription Drugs Campaign, aimed at getting one million people to stop and reevaluate the medications they are taking, kicked off the New Year by rolling out a dedicated website for the initiative. The new site located at http://justsayknow.kpnc.com was developed to support the strategic plan to pursue the campaign's goals through alliances with sympathetic online social networks and affinity groups. The site will serve as a portal for supporters offering tools and resources for advocates. The beta version of the site provides background on the campaign, forms, campaign updates, press releases, a mailing list and links to relevant sites. Over the next 30-60 days the site will add a blog, a forum, links to important news stories and syndicated radio programming aimed at keeping supporters of the initiative well informed.

"In the first 2 months of the in initiative we reached over 200,000 people in 121 countries with virtually no tools, no budget and just a hand full of charter supporters spreading the word," said Dr Greg Tefft, co-founder or the campaign. This site is the next step in our strategic plan to rely on year round, grass-roots organizing to ramp up the campaign and achieve our mission. The site will allow supporters to keep abreast of our progress and to quickly bring others up to speed on who we are, what we are doing and how to get involved," said Tefft.

The organization has declared October Just Say "Know" to Prescription Drugs month and will be working all year toward making October, 2007 a significant milestone in the campaign. "The good news is that in October 2006 we experienced strong and ready support for our campaign from a broad cross section of people. However, our goal is gargantuan and will take concerted, consistent effort, over time to achieve. We are now set to press on," said Dr. Domminick Riccio, Chairman of the campaign.

Organizations and individuals who want to participate in the campaign may go to http://justsayknow.kpncradio.com

Primary funding for the campaign is provided by Dr. Greg Tefft, who is also providing hosting for the site at www.KPNCradio.com.
