For the first time ever a two-day Bluegrass jamboree will be broadcasted live in the US and Canada, and will be available free for C-Band and Digital broadcast.*
Mississippi (PRWeb) January 18, 2007 -- Southern Entertainment Television (TheSET™) announced today that it will broadcast the Fifth Family Entertainment Bluegrass Jamboree with "Bubba" Gilliam hosting the event live. The Jamboree is taking place at the Desoto County Civic Center (Southaven, MS) on January 20th and 21st.
Mr. Gilliam, a well-known actor who has been in dozens of films and commercials during his career, will host the live broadcast of the jamboree and interview the participating bands. Commenting on the event Mr. Gilliam states, "The Fifth Annual Bluegrass Jamboree is the perfect place to have a great time with your family. In addition to bringing the show live, Southern Entertainment Television will also feature exclusive interviews with some of the most popular Bluegrass bands of all time. I appreciate the opportunity that my great friend and unique entertainment industry leader Harold Brown, President of TheSET, has given me to host this unparalleled live event in Mississippi."
Burton "Bubba" Gilliam has been in over forty-five films, including Paper Moon, Blazing Saddles, Gator, Hearts of the West, Fletch, Back to the Future III, Honeymoon in Vegas, and The Getaway. He has also appeared in 190 television shows and over 200 commercials. Mr. Gilliam is the official spokesperson of Advertising Promotions for Southern Entertainment Television.
The Jamboree and the live broadcast will begin at 11 am (Central Time) on Saturday January 20th and end at 10 pm (Central Time). The jamboree will then resume on Sunday the 21st from 2 pm (Central Time) until 7 pm (Central Time).
The twelve bands performing at the Jamboree include: Blue Ridge (North Carolina), The Tennessee Gentlemen (Tennessee), The Peasall Sisters (Tennessee), Larry Wallace Bluegrass (Mississippi), Stone County Connection (Tennessee), Shallow Creek (Mississippi), Joe Cook Family (Louisiana), The Booher Family (Tennessee), Gary Waldrep Band (Alabama), The Bluegrass Brothers (Virginia), Stateline Bluegrass (Arkansas), and Delta Blue (Mississippi).
- The transmission of the event will be available on C-Band through satellite receivers (800-432-8876) and Digital broadcast for free. Cable companies in Georgia, Alabama, Florida, California and North Carolina will also carry the signal.
