We are pleased to use Brightcove to further enhance video distribution via the internet. Internet TV is rapidly transforming the media industry, and it's a privilege to be working with such an incredible group to help shape and build that future. AOL and Brightcove launched a distribution service that can enable video publishers to sell high-quality video downloads through the AOL Video portal. The new service promises to expand the distribution options for video publishers and the choices for consumers. Edgartown has several other upcoming projects it will launch through the Brightcove distribution channel.
Edgartown Ventures ,is currently working with Paramount Pictures in an executive producing capacity on a film based upon a pitch documentary done by principal, Keith Dorrington and Leslie Varrelman. Most recently an independent film, "The Merger", was done as a small budget, unscripted indie film. Dorrington lost his job in hostile Corporate takeover and rather than dwelling on his unfortunate incident, he decided to return to his rolodex, cash in some old favors, and round up a handful of old business associates to star in his new Independent Film "The Merger".
This was directed by Dorrington and produced by Josh Mitchell, Bret Moses, and Keith Dorrington. The film was shot in Florida and in Boston. "The Merger" hits a nerve with all who have had to experience the agony of corporate downsizing. This film will have the audience cheering as they relate to the theme of "success is the best revenge".
Brightcove was Founded by Internet pioneer Jeremy Allaire in 2004 and is based in Cambridge, Massachusetts, Brightcove is a private company led by a management team that includes senior executives from Allaire, Macromedia, ATG, Comcast, Lycos, News Corp., MediaVest, and Discovery Networks.
