Award-winning designer, Glen Read, a licensed designer for Specialty Textiles, adds to his repertoire with a new collection of upholstery groups made by Smith Furniture Manufacturing.

Waco, TX (PRWeb) January 25, 2007 -- Award-winning designer, Glen Read, a licensed designer for Specialty Textiles, adds to his repertoire with a new collection of upholstery groups made by Smith Furniture Manufacturing. His fabrics with STI are available at Crate & Barrel, Rooms to Go, Lazy Boy, Rc Wiley, Robb & Stucky, Art Van, Nebraska Furniture, Star Furniture, Jordan's Furniture among others.

Mr. Read's approach to designing fabric and sofa groups is, "When designing furniture I try to follow the old design rules of 'form needs to fit function'. I believe the goal is to create clean lines, comfort, and attract the 30 to 50 years olds out there in the consumer world. My belief is that there has been a shift in America in regard to what that consumer wants in there home. Smith Furniture embraces this unique paradigm shift."

Many of us remember the clean lines of the furniture found in the homes of our grandparents with there 50's and 60' furniture. I think it has helped to generate desire for us in those cleaner looks, kind like comfort food for the mind.
"Glen's designs will allow our team of upholstery artisans, many of whom have worked with us for over twenty years, to showcase their special talents," Harry Smith, President/Owner, Smith Furniture Manufacturing.

"Few designers posses Glen's imagination, humility, and gravitas. Glen echoes the creative spirit of our company philosophy of Transcending Innovation. This is foundation of our signature Smith Style & Quality." Mark Smith, VP, Smith Furniture.

Dreamscape: from the Imagination of Glen Read will feature his new contemporary Sojourn Sectional. Future designs in this group will include a sofa, chair, and ottoman. He and Smith are also working on a number of other new designs. Glen Read furthers states, "Many of us remember the clean lines of the furniture found in the homes of our grandparents with there 50's and 60' furniture. I think it has helped to generate desire for us in those cleaner looks, kind like comfort food for the mind."
