Wind River Bundles Datalight FlashFX Pro into VXWorks

Datalight Inc. announced today that Wind River (NASDAQ:WIND) has integrated an evaluation version of FlashFX® Pro version 3.0 with VxWorks Edition 3.4 platforms, which are based on VxWorks 6.4, Wind River's RTOS (real-time operating system). FlashFX Pro makes it simple for software applications to access flash memory, both NOR and NAND, just as they would a hard disk drive, and ensures the disk integrity of the flash array even in the event of unexpected power loss.

BOTHELL, Wash. (PRWeb) January 31, 2007 -- In addition, FlashFX Pro offers drop-in support for over 200 flash parts - including NAND, NOR, hybrid flash, and NAND controllers - giving VxWorks developers ultimate design flexibility. The solution has been available since December 2006 through Wind River, and offers VxWorks DSO (device software optimization) developers NAND flash capabilities that previously weren't available.

Wind River's VxWorks Edition platforms provide solid foundations for the development of a wide range of devices, from aerospace and defense applications to networking and consumer electronics gear, robotics and industrial applications, precision medical instruments, and navigation and telematics systems in automobiles. The platforms Datalight Inc., the premier supplier of reliable software for device data storage, announced today that Wind River (NASDAQ:WIND) has integrated an evaluation version of FlashFX® Pro version 3.0 with VxWorks Edition 3.4 platforms, which are based on VxWorks 6.4, Wind River's RTOS (real-time operating system). The FlashFX Pro Evaluation that is integrated with all VxWorks Edition 3.4 platforms allows developers to create a flash disk size up to 2MB, and is a no-cost way for developers to validate their device design. By registering with Datalight at http://www.wwwdatalight.com/WindRiverEval developers are also eligible for 30 days of complimentary best-in-class technical support from the experts in flash memory management software. When they're ready to ship their application, developers can obtain a simple license key purchased from Datalight to unlock the full capabilities of FlashFX Pro.
