Raleigh, N.C. (PRWEB) October 5, 2007 -- A wolf pup and a tiger cub question society values by refusing to follow common-sense as they show affection for each other in Kindred Love, a book by Brazilian author Vagner Albino.
A magazine article on animal homosexuality was the motivation behind this 256-page book depicting a place similar to Earth, inhabited by anthropomorphized animals.
Mayke Kranenbarg, a cultural anthropologist, comments: "Kindred Love deals with a subject that is not easy and is still controversial in contemporary society, and does this in an engaging and revelatory way. This is a book about the implications of loving someone from the same sex, but more so it is about being true to one's nature. (...) Another influence was the furry subculture. It suggests that animals are free from concepts and thus can express a characteristic that would be reprehended in a human environment.
