Mommy Makeovers: A Scottsdale Plastic Surgeon Is Now Leader in Giving Mothers Their Bodies Back

Robert Cohen, MD, responding to a great demand from post-pregnancy women, provides a combination of procedures popularly known as the "Mommy Makeover," returning breasts and abdomens to pre-pregnancy shape.

Scottsdale, AZ (PRWEB) October 17, 2007 -- Scottsdale Plastic Surgeon, Robert Cohen, MD, is filling a much needed niche in cosmetic surgery for women who have had one or more children. "After pregnancy, most women will see a change in the appearance of their breasts and abdominal regions," he notes. "Pregnancy, and particularly breast feeding, frequently causes the breasts to take on a droopy or deflated shape. Likewise, women's stomachs will stretch out progressively with each pregnancy, causing a bulging or loose appearance."

In order to address the body issues of these women, Dr. Cohen has become a leader in a combination of techniques known as the "Mommy Makeover." The Mommy Makeover is not one specific procedure, but is rather a combination of techniques used to create a rejuvenated appearance in women with post-pregnancy breast and body changes.

As Dr. Cohen states, "This is not a one-size-fits-all type of surgery. Every woman has unique changes that need to be specifically addressed. Some women need breast implants with a lift, while others need a lift only, or possibly even a breast reduction in certain cases. Along those same lines, some women benefit most from a full tummy-tuck, while a mini tummy-tuck is more appropriate for other women. Frequently, liposuction is used as a complementary therapy to maximize results. I evaluate each woman and we discuss a customized surgical plan that will give them the best possible results."

It is this attention to detail and artistic vision that has garnered Dr. Cohen the attention of not only many happy patients, but the news media as well. In Item Magazine's article "Mom's Best Friend," Dr. Cohen is written up as the must-see board certified plastic surgeon in Scottsdale for women who want their "beautiful pre-baby bodies back." On Phoenix Channel 12 News, Dr. Cohen has been featured as a skilled Scottsdale plastic surgeon who is helping women look and feel better. During this feature, one of his patients describes how Dr. Cohen's "Mommy Makeover" improved her confidence and self-esteem.

According to Dr. Cohen, "I am always amazed by the degree of positive impact this surgery has on my patients. In Scottsdale, people think breast augmentation, tummy tucks and liposuction are simply procedures that change the way someone looks. For many of my patients, the Mommy Makeover not only restores their bodies, but also restores their sense of sexuality and self-esteem which is often damaged by the physical changes of pregnancy."

Dr. Cohen's knowledge not only benefits his own Scottsdale plastic surgery practice. He has presented research on combining breast surgery and liposuction with abdominoplasty surgery at multiple plastic surgery meetings nationally, including those of the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery and the American Society of Plastic Surgeons. This research is not only focused on technique, but on patient safety which is always Dr. Cohen's number one priority.

After fourteen years of education and advanced training in some of the nation's most prestigious institutions, Dr. Robert Cohen returned to his native Scottsdale, Arizona, to establish his permanent practice. Dr. Cohen is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and has published multiple research papers and a textbook chapter on technology and robotics in plastic surgery.

Dr. Cohen welcomes patients from Scottsdale, Paradise Valley, Phoenix and the rest of Arizona to his Scottsdale Center for Plastic Surgery and the new Paradise Valley Outpatient Surgery Center. For more information, call 480.423.1973 or visit www.scottsdalecenterforplasticsurgery.com.
