Kucinich Speaking Live to Rally Party Faithful at Presidential Straw Poll Oct. 21

Edwards, Obama, Clinton represented by Yee, Westly, Speier at first ever straw poll hosted by San Mateo Democratic Party.

San Mateo, Calif. (PRWEB) October 19, 2007 -- While Rep. Dennis J. Kucinich, D-Ohio, has confirmed his personal appearance at the first-ever San Mateo County Democratic Straw Poll set for October 21 at the San Mateo County Event Center, Peninsula Democratic leaders will be promoting some of the other major presidential contenders.

State Sen. Leland Yee, D-San Francisco/San Mateo County, will speak on behalf of former Sen. John Edwards, former state Sen. Jackie Speier is representing Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-New York, and former state Controller Steve Westly, will be speaking on behalf of Sen. Barack Obama, D-Illinois. In addition, Lynn Mosier, is expected to represent her father, Mike Gravel, former Democratic U.S. Senator from Alaska.

What: Democratic Presidential Straw Poll in San Mateo County; Kucinich attending in person, while top San Mateo County Democrats promote their choices for the 2008 White House race

Who: All California Democrats

When: 2pm-5pm, Sunday, Oct. 21, 2007. Voting ends at 4pm; Press Conference to follow vote count

Where: Oak Hall, San Mateo County Event Center 2495 S. Delaware Street, San Mateo

Why: To estimate California Democrats' opinions leading up to the February 2008 presidential primary

How: $25 to benefit the San Mateo County Democratic Central Committee. Those age18 or younger are free, but may not vote.
