BMC Veteran, Jay Gardner, Appointed to Phurnace Software Board of Directors

Austin start up makes fifth appointment to board with Jay Gardner, BMC veteran.

Austin, Texas (PRWEB) October 19, 2007 -- Phurnace Software, Inc. (www.phurnace.com), the java application deployment company, announced the appointment of Jay Gardner, former CIO of BMC Software, to its board of directors. Gardner is the fifth appointee to the company's board. He retired from BMC earlier this year and held multiple executive positions there over his 20 year tenure.

As CIO for BMC Software, Gardner was focused on aligning the company's IT organization with its business objectives. He joined BMC Software in 1988, after spending 10 years at IBM Corp., and held numerous positions in the company's sales organization, including vice president of sales in North America, and vice president of Global Field Operations before being named CIO.

Phurnace received its Series-A funding in September led by DFJ Mercury, a Texas-based Venture Capital fund affiliated with Draper Fisher Jurvetson of Menlo Park, California. The company will announce additional capabilities to its Java EE deployment software later this month.
