ASTRALCOM SL, the in-world division of ASTRALCOM Digital Business Solutions have completed their commission to develop a messaging services in a mobile aerial format in the skies within Second Life.

Lakewood, CA (PRWEB) October 31, 2007 -- ASTRALCOMSL, the in-world division of ASTRALCOM Digital Business Solutions (www.astralcom.com) a US-based company, today announced that they have completed their commission to develop a solution for its Boston, MA client that wished to provide messaging services in a mobile aerial format in the skies within Second Life.

The messaging solution includes the deployment of a customized airship, or blimp, that can be flown throughout the skies in Second Life and will allow for passengers to fly in the blimp, while also displaying messages via side panels on the blimp as it flies. "It was important to ensure that the resulting flight experience was as life-like as possible for our client and for their passengers," stated ASTRALCOMSL VP of E-Business Richard Bergér. "The customized blimp is a complete scale model and includes realistic features like engine sounds, auto-pilot, flight control, passenger ejection, mooring and a host of other items that make the flight experience authentic and compelling," explained Bergér.

Another aspect of the airship is its ability to display messages to the Second Life residents while flying around and unlike real life, the messages, when touched, teleports residents to the exact location of the business or person displaying the message on the airship. "We haven't actually seen anything like this flying around Second Life so far, so our client may be one of the first to do this," claimed Bergér.

In other ASTRALCOM SL related news, based on an initial successful trial run, ASTRALCOM SL has also been awarded an on-going contract with Ahearn | Schopfer Associates, an architectural firm also from Boston, MA., for continued billboard advertising in Second Life.

Second Life is the wildly popular 3-D virtual world entirely built and owned by its residents, which, since opening to the public in 2003, has grown explosively and today is inhabited by nearly 10 million people from around the globe. Second Life also has its own marketplace that currently supports millions of US dollars in monthly transactions.

ASTRALCOM SL is a subsidiary of ASTRALCOM Digital Business Solutions (www.astralcom.com), a multiple award-winning digital business solution provider that creates and develops strategic Internet and e-business implementations including web development, e-commerce, search engine marketing, customer relationship, content management, virtual world deployments and all aspects of Internet-related business.
