Close to six million Americans could qualify to join Mensa
Local chapters of American Mensa will administer the test at various locations on Mensa Testing Day. Anyone interested in taking the Mensa Admission Test should visit www.us.mensa.org/MTD to find the nearest testing location. The test fee is $40 and a photo ID is required. The test is open to anyone age 14 and older, but parental permission is required for anyone age 14 – 17.

“Close to six million Americans could qualify to join Mensa,” said Russ Bakke, Chairman of American Mensa. “That’s one out of every fifty people. So many members have found a home within our organization; a place where they belong and can connect with other ‘like-minded’ people. If you think you’re smart enough to be in Mensa, take the test -- you probably are.”

Mensa’s local chapters host a variety of activities each month including lectures, pizza parties, poetry readings and game nights. Members may also attend national events, receive the Mensa Bulletin magazine and may join Special Interest Groups that range from astronomy to chocolate.

American Mensa is an organization open to anyone who scores in the top two percent on an accepted, standardized intelligence test. The organization has more than 54,000 members in the United States and more than 100,000 members in more than 40 countries. Members of Mensa attend local and national events, join special interest groups such as astronomy and philosophy, and help out in their communities through various projects. For more information about Mensa, or to apply for membership, visit www.us.mensa.org or call (800) 66-MENSA.
