BreakingPoint Systems, developers of the most powerful network content aware test system, today announced that it has raised $15 million in Series C Funding.

Austin, TX (PRWEB) November 12, 2007-- BreakingPoint Systems, developers of the most powerful network content aware test system, today announced that it has raised $15 million in Series C Funding. Return investors included Genesis Inventions, L.P. and Austin Ventures while additional capital was secured from other new and existing investors.

BreakingPoint Systems has now raised $28 million in capital since the company’s inception in September 2005. BreakingPoint Systems plans to use the funding to accelerate sales and marketing and product manufacturing to meet high customer demand for the company’s groundbreaking network test equipment.

We could not have anticipated such overwhelming positive response to the product
BreakingPoint Systems creates next generation network test equipment for content aware networks in a single solution. BreakingPoint Systems provides multi-gigabit network test capabilities for Layers 2-7 and includes a security test suite along with a service that provides timely updates on the latest threats, exploits and evasion techniques. Since hitting the market with the company’s first product, the BPS-1000, in July followed by a second new product announcement, the BPS-10k, last month, BreakingPoint Systems has demonstrated strong growth in the marketplace and noteworthy customer wins.

“We could not have anticipated such overwhelming positive response to the product,” said Des Wilson, BreakingPoint Systems CEO. “This latest round of capital will enable us to continue to focus on our product geographic expansion so we can provide our customers with the best network test equipment available today.”

About BreakingPoint Systems
BreakingPoint Systems, Inc. creates next generation network test equipment for content aware networks. Formed in 2005, BreakingPoint Systems was created by engineers who have spent their careers developing high speed networking devices at companies such as NetWorth, NetSpeed, Cisco, TippingPoint and 3Com. After years of experiencing the inadequacies of existing network test equipment, the founders decided to tackle the problem themselves. Leveraging their previous experience, they have built a hardware based multi-gigabit testing solution for content aware networks that redefines testing expectations.
