Download this press release as an Adobe PDF document.

Berkleemusic has launched a collection of music blogs where Berkleemusic faculty discuss topics and current events relating to the music business, music production, songwriting, music theory, performance and online music education.
Not only are we providing people with direct access to our esteemed faculty, but they also have the chance to comment and turn these blogs into conversations, extending the reach of the Berkleemusic experience even further. The importance of this type of discourse to the future of the music industry cannot be overstated.

Boston, MA (PRWEB) November 14, 2007 -- In keeping with its tradition of staying at the forefront of music and technology, Berkleemusic, the continuing education division of Berklee College of Music, today announced the launch of the Berkleemusic Blog Network, a growing collection of online blogs where readers can get expert, up to the minute information from some of the most respected minds in the music world.

The Berkleemusic Blog Network (www.berkleemusicblogs.com) brings together music industry professionals, music educators and Berkleemusic faculty to discuss topics and current events relating to the music business, music production, songwriting, music theory, performance and online education. The first of its kind, the Berkleemusic Blog Network provides comprehensive articles, opinions and commentary on a whole range of music industry issues. The breadth of topics covered include things like improving your Pro Tools production skills, overcoming performance anxiety, co-authoring a song, marketing music online, creating an iMix, starting a publishing company, music trend mongering and everything in between.

The network launches with various blogs authored by Berkleemusic faculty and industry pros, all opinion leaders in their respective fields. In addition to the abundance of written information included in each posting, many entries include additional resources, including Web links, YouTube videos, graphics and images, music notation, mp3 files, and more. Among the current contributors are Eric Beall, A&R executive at Shapiro Bernstein, one of the industry's most venerable and respected independent music publishers, Debbie Cavalier, Dean of the Continuing Education Division at Berklee, and David Franz, author of the best selling book Producing in the Home Studio with Pro Tools.

"Nothing with the scope and depth of Berkleemusic Blogs currently exists in the music industry," says Dave Kusek, Vice President at Berklee. "Not only are we providing people with direct access to our esteemed faculty, but they also have the chance to comment and turn these blogs into conversations, extending the reach of the Berkleemusic experience even further. The importance of this type of discourse to the future of the music industry cannot be overstated."

The Berkleemusic Blog Network can be accessed at www.berkleemusicblogs.com, or by going to www.berkleemusic.com and clicking the "Blogs" tab at the top of the page. Berkleemusic Blogs can be accessed by everybody.

Other successful initiatives Berklee has embarked on in the past include Berklee Shares, a program that took hundreds of stand-alone music lessons and made them available to the world for free to use and share with their friends. These online music lessons have been downloaded by millions of people around the globe and have formed the basis of music programs in many areas where traditional music instruction is not available.
