Famed radio host will educate listeners about data backup.

Boston, MA (PRWEB) November 13, 2007 -- Carbonite, Inc., the leader in online PC backup, today announced a new radio advertising campaign with the nationally syndicated radio program, The Rush Limbaugh Show. The campaign will focus on educating the public about the risks of losing the valuable data on their computers, including family photos, personal files and business documents. Most listeners are still not aware that online backup is the simplest, safest, and least expensive way to protect the information on their computer. The campaign debuted November 1 with a 60-second spot airing three times per week until May 2008.

The new campaign asks users to imagine how they would feel if they lost everything on their PC due to hard drive failure, theft, fire, viruses or simple user mistakes. In the spots, Mr. Limbaugh emphasizes that Carbonite backs up all the data on your PC for only $50 per year and consumers have to do nothing – it's completely automatic.

We've advertised on radio since we launched Carbonite a year and a half ago and it has been a great medium for telling our story
“We've advertised on radio since we launched Carbonite a year and a half ago and it has been a great medium for telling our story,” said David Friend, Carbonite's CEO. “The Rush Limbaugh Show will help us reach our largest audience to date. No company in the online backup industry has addressed an audience as large as this.”

Data shows that most PC owners don't back-up their data. A recent survey conducted by Carbonite indicates that 65 percent of PC owners have already experienced serious data loss. Yet 68 percent of people never back up or back up only sporadically. Only 9 percent of people are aware that online backup services like Carbonite exist and can eliminate all their risk for a few dollars per month.

“Our goal is simply to make people aware that an easy, inexpensive solution exists,” Friend said. “Once people try Carbonite, they usually buy it. Trusted individuals like Rush Limbaugh speaking about the Carbonite product show consumers they can trust us with their data.”

Nationally syndicated by Premiere Radio Networks, The Rush Limbaugh Show is heard by approximately 20 million weekly listeners and airs on nearly 600 radio stations.
