Destiny Entertainment and Skywalk Productions Partner on Two Ron Shusett Projects to Star Hector Echavarria

Destiny Entertainment and Skywalk Productions partner on two film projects produced by sci-fi lengend Ron Shusett and will star Argentine martial arts phenomenon Hector Echavarria.

Hollywood, California (PRWEB) December 3, 2007 -- Destiny Entertainment has partnered with Skywalk Productions on two films to be produced by high profile producer/writer Ronald Shusett. The first will be "Death Warrior, an action horror film which Shusett will produce. The second is the action/ drama "Billy Hatchett" written and produced by Shusett.

Shusett's films, which he has either written, executive produced or produced have grossed over a billion and a half dollars. They include "Alien," "Total Recall," "Minority Report," "Freejack," and "Above the Law."

Destiny Entertainment specializes in action films with budgets between $2 and $5 million, with an emphasis on the Latino audience. They frequently star Argentine world martial arts champion Hector Echavarria. Echavarria has a huge international following, particularly in Latin America. A series of comic books based on Echavarria's life sold over a quarter of a million copies in Argentina, and millions of his action figures have been sold in Latin America. Hector is also launching his own brand of street wear clothing in the US in 2008 for United Licensing Group and Jimmy Esebag, best known for licensing the Playboy brand.

Destiny will also be releasing its completed film, "Duel of Legends," starring Echavarria, theatrically in the US in March 2008.

Destiny's head of distribution, Mike Doban will also oversee the theatrical release and the foreign sales of the newly formed partnership. Doban is the former VP for United Artists Theaters and co-founder of Freestyle Releasing, which distributed "A Day Without a Mexican" for Televisa Cine, as well as "The Illusionist" and "American Hunting," among others.

"Death Warrior" will be directed by Mireck A. Kullitt. Both "Death Warrior" and "Billy Hatchett" will star Echavarria.

"Death Warrior", which will be shot in California and Mexico, will begin principal photography in February 2008. "Death Warrior" tells the story of five top mixed martial arts champions who are forced to play a game to the death.

"Billy Hatchett" tells the story of a Latino bounty hunter in Los Angeles. Shusett has already completed the script. The film is slated to begin production in fall 2008.
