Sharing Family History the Inspiration for New Children’s Story

Download this press release as an Adobe PDF document.

The art of storytelling and familial pride beam from the pages of Toco the Toucan’s first book.

Santa Cruz, CA (HRMarketer/PRWeb) December 5, 2007 -- Toco the Toucan’s first book, You Can Do What A Toucan Can Do Too! If Toco Can So Can You embraces the art of storytelling and familial pride. It lovingly illustrates the tale of Toco the Toucan, the little toucan who couldn’t fly—and how all the other school birds make fun of him. It’s not until his mother consoles him and shares their family history that he learns to take pride in himself and his differences.

My mother read to me and got me hooked on books very early in my life
The new children’s book, available via Blurb, the creative book publishing service, is the perfect storytelling book for parents of young children.

"'You Can Do What A Toucan Can Do Too' is a wonderfully inspiring story," says new mother and media relations executive, Adriana Saldana. "I enjoy reading to my one-year-old, especially positive stories about believing in yourself - it's never too early! Toco's tale is creatively written and my son marvels at the beautiful illustrations."

An excerpt of the book highlights Toco’s mother consoling her son and sharing their family history:

"His mama she told him not to worry so
She hopped from the bedroom
And returned all aglow

She carried an album of pictures quite old
She said it was family
And such stories she told!"

A complete 15-page preview of Toco’s tale is available online.

"My mother read to me and got me hooked on books very early in my life," says Kevin Grossman, the story’s author. "I’ve been an avid reader ever since. Years later, my father got into genealogy, which combined with my mother’s influence inspired Toco’s story."

The new children’s book is a perfect balance vivid artwork and playful prose for all ages. "You Can Do What A Toucan Can Do Too! If Toco Can So Can You" can be ordered online at http://www.blurb.com/bookstore/detail/109053 just in time for the holidays.
