Double Glazing Windows, Doors Help You Go Green

Double glazing windows and doors help to reduce heating bills by almost 50% and contribute to the cleaner environment by saving a household about three quarters of a tonne of CO2 a year.

(PRWEB) December 7, 2007 -- Almost half of the UK's carbon dioxide emissions come from energy we use every day - at home and when we travel. Reducing energy consumption saves money and environment at the same time. Installing double glazing windows and doors is one of the easiest ways to save up to 50% on heating bills and make a satisfying contribution to the environment.

Currently as part of the Home Information Pack for houses that are being bought and sold, there will be a compulsory and independently assessed Energy Performance Certificate. These certificates are commissioned by the seller (or their agent) from an accredited list of Energy Assessors, who will visit the property to collect all relevant data, including the date, construction and location of the house and relevant fittings, such as heating systems, insulation and double glazing, before issuing the certificate.

The Government is now putting pressure on all areas of life to be pro-active in its interest and efforts to preserve the environment. As a result new home information packs have become the norm and every home will have energy ratings together with an energy performance certificate. This will be of obvious importance when it comes to buying and selling any property.
The double glazed accessories increase their homes' energy efficiency and by doing so keep them warm, save money and add value to the properties. Research shows that buyers are willing to pay up to £10,000 more for an environmentally friendly house - and that 70% consider energy efficiency to be important when buying a home.

Safestyle UK, the country's largest double glazing windows and upvc doors retailer, offer highly energy efficient products coupled with free-fitting and 10-year transferable guarantee. They have over 340 window styles and over 40 door styles to choose from, making it easy to get one that can match your home.

John Ross, Chief Executive of the Style Group, explained: "The Government is now putting pressure on all areas of life to be pro-active in its interest and efforts to preserve the environment. As a result new home information packs have become the norm and every home will have energy ratings together with an energy performance certificate. This will be of obvious importance when it comes to buying and selling any property."
