New Orleans, LA (PRWEB) December 9, 2007 -- The greater New Orleans area will be treated to what will amount to a sneak preview of Susan Cowsill's upcoming web-based talk show, "On the Couch with Susan Cowsill," when Cowsill subs at WWL TV for Keith Spera, who is going on paternity leave.

The Friday morning format usually features Spera talking to Eric Paulsen about musical highlights in the New Orleans area. Together, they preview musicians who will be performing in the upcoming week. Cowsill will sub for the next two months, while Spera, who is also the Lagniappe writer for the Times Picayune, is on paternity leave.

Susan Cowsill is a New Orleans singer/songwriter who made her mark on popular culture at the tender age of eight with the Cowsills, a '60s pop family group that scored top ten singles such as Hair. The Cowsills also served as the real life inspiration for television's The Partridge Family.

On the first Saturday of every month Susan, her husband Russ Broussard, and their local New Orleans band perform an original set at Carrollton Station, followed by a Covered in Vinyl set, featuring the performance of an entire album from start to finish. The Susan Cowsill Band has covered, among others, Ziggy Stardust, Wings Band on the Run, Joni Mitchell's Court & Spark, The Beatles Rubber Soul and Jimi Hendrix' Are You Experienced. A CD compilation is made from selected live recordings every few months.

A portion of the profits from sales of these CDs is being donated to the Carrollton Station Foundation which aids musicians needing help who were affected by the hurricanes of 2005.

CBS affiliate WWL-TV broadcasts from New Orleans' world-famous French Quarter on historic North Rampart Street -- preserving a broadcasting legacy with a unique spirit that reflects what is perhaps America's most unique city.

Channel Four's "Eyewitness Morning News," hosted by the long-running team of Eric Paulsen and Sally-Ann Roberts, is Nielsen's most popular local morning broadcast.
